Michael Mando has often emphasised that Nacho Varga's power lies in his silence. The character is required to express emotion, tension, and internal conflict without a dialogue ot breakdown. This was both a deliberate acting choice, keeping the character in mind, and a narrative decision by the makers of Better Call Saul. In the interview, when Seth asked the same, Mando appreciated the acknowledgement and explained how it is to perform like that.

"I really appreciate it. A lot of character, a lot of the acting is non dialogue based, and the character is definitely walking a razor blade, and it's just hell of a rollercoaster ride, man. "

The host then asserted how difficult and stressful it is to watch what goes on with the character, so it must be stressful for the actor as well to do the same. The actor answered how he decompressed after the shooting of Better Call Saul.

"A lot of chocolate, a lot of ice cream, a lot of crying in the shower at night. But I have taken on Muay Thai, a mixed martial arts form, so I really enjoy doing that and hot yoga. "

Mando expressed his great desire to work with Vince Gilligan while he watched the last episode of Breaking Bad along with his father. And boom! There he was playing a significant character in its prequel series, after appearing for the audition 3 weeks later, following the incident.

"If you ever believe in fate, I think that felt like a moment of fate right there."

Nacho, in the show, eventually becomes a silent rebel against Hector. Nacho rises in the cartel’s ranks but becomes uncomfortable with Tuco's and Hector’s violence. When Hector tries to use Nacho’s father’s shop to launder money, Nacho tries to protect his dad, later sacrificing his life for that.
