Dexter: Resurrection, one of the most anticipated shows of the year, is all set to hit the television screens soon. The show continues the journey of the titular serial killer, with Michael C. Hall returning as the lead for the third time in the franchise.
The mystery crime drama picks up after the events of the 2021 miniseries Dexter: New Blood, which ended with Dexter fighting for his life after his son shot him. However, the forensic blood spatter analyst has survived the attack.

Dexter: Resurrection Episode 1 will be made available for Paramount+ Premium (formerly Paramount+ with Showtime) subscribers on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET. Along with the first episode, the second episode of the series will also be released at the same time on the premiere day.
After the initial week, the show will release one new episode every Friday on Paramount+. Meanwhile, Dexter: Resurrection will make its cable debut on Paramount+ with Showtime linear channel on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 8 PM ET / PT.
What to expect from Dexter: Resurrection Episode 1?
The episode, titled A Beating Heart…, will likely showcase how Dexter Morgan survives the fatal gunshot fired by his son, Harrison. It is also expected to portray how the serial killer wakes up from a coma and deals with his son following the attack and how he reenters the world of crime as he starts to have violent urges once again. The official logline for the episode reads:
“Dexter Morgan awakens from a ten-week coma; as he begins a painful recovery and learns Harrison has fled to NYC, both father and son are drawn closer to confronting the darkness they've tried to escape.”

The show marks the return of Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan. Other cast members who are reprising their roles from the previous shows in the franchise include James Remar as Harry Morgan and Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan. David Zayas will also return as Angel Batista.
