The new American mystery and crime drama series Dexter: Resurrection tells the story of Dexter Morgan. It immediately follows Dexter: New Blood. Returning as Dexter, Michael C. Hall searches New York City for his missing son, Harrison, after recovering from a near-fatal gunshot wound.

The show features appearances by Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, David Zayas, and Jack Alcott, and will debut on Paramount+ with Showtime on July 11, 2025. It centers on Dexter's struggles as he attempts to protect his son from Miami-based Captain Angel Batista.

Dexter: Resurrection depicts Dexter Morgan's hunt for his lost kid in New York City after recovering from a gunshot wound. The series combines gloomy themes with intimate touches, returning Dexter's former hobby - bowling - particularly in episode 5. It delves into his changing relationships while keeping suspense, drama, and traditional Dexter-style moral dilemma.

Bowling, one of Dexter Morgan's oldest and most well-known pastimes, has returned in the new series Dexter: Resurrection, and after all the years away from the screen, this beloved activity resurfaces in episode 5. Viewers of the original Dexter series will recognize this pastime.

Jeff Lindsay created the fictitious character Dexter Morgan for his book series, and the television program Dexter helped make him well-known and Dexter is employed by the Miami Metropolitan Police Department. This is done as a forensic blood spatter analyst.

His awful secret, though, is that he is a vigilante serial killer who preys on murderers who have eluded the law and the strict moral code Dexter follows is called "The Code of Harry."

This rule states that Dexter can only murder those who have been proven guilty and that he must stay out of trouble and Dexter is a complex character.

Despite his violent behavior, Dexter attempts to look normal by engaging in common activities such as cooking, dating, and bowling. These activities make him more personable and reveal a side of him that contrasts with his darker personality.

Bowling is once again portrayed as an important part of Dexter's life in Dexter: Resurrection, and Dexter is seen bowling on television for the first time since season 2 of the original series.

In episode 5, Dexter takes a new character, Mia (played by Krysten Ritter), out on a bowling date, and episode 4 concentrates on Dexter's love of food. This comeback gives the show's sometimes somber and dramatic plot a more comfortable and familiar feel.

Dexter's bowling talent is clear, and the episode includes a funny scenario in which he splits a difficult 7-10. The bowling scene with Mia is not just a flashback to Dexter's past, but it also allows him to explore new aspects of his relationships and personality.

Throughout the franchise, Dexter's definition of bowling has changed. Bowling served as a pretext for Dexter to avoid spending time with Sofia, a potential love interest in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin.

However, bowling is depicted in Dexter: Resurrection as a means for Dexter to bond with Mia, indicating some development in Dexter's social skills. This shift demonstrates how Dexter's life continues to change even as other aspects of him remain constant.
