Dexter: Resurrection has given fans something completely new. For the first time, we see Dexter joining a serial killer club. He is mingling with people who live for the thrill of murder. They open up about themselves at the party, but Dexter is smarter. So to keep his real identity safe, he adopts the persona of Red. It is fascinating to watch him balance his Dark Passenger instincts with this new role.

Dexter: Resurrection has done a fantastic job of showing how even someone who is normally in control can be pushed into tense and unpredictable situations. This season is made more compelling by presenting Dexter in situations that challenge him emotionally and strategically. He is forced to make his way through relationships with dangerous people. He also has to keep his son Harrison safe and prove that he can be a better father to him.

Leon Prater joined the cast and made the show even better with his enigmatic presence. He is brilliant, wealthy, and charming yet terrifying. He is not a killer himself, but he studies and appreciates the 'craft' of murder. And that's precisely what makes him a mirror to Dexter.

Through the first few episodes, Dexter has already eliminated most of the club members, excluding Al. Though Leon Prater remains. Their dynamic introduces a psychological depth that Dexter: Resurrection has never explored before. Peter Dinklage’s portrayal of Prater gives the character a sort of richness that allows viewers to see how Dexter might react when confronted with a reflection of his own obsessions.

In Dexter: Resurrection, Prater is a rich collector who is fascinated by serial killers. He is obsessed with the details, the methods, and the psychology behind each murder. As a child, his parents were killed in a car accident, and he even met the man responsible to ask about the thoughts and intentions behind the crime. That encounter switched a side inside him that could never go back.

Peter Dinklage had revealed, according to Dexter Daily, that Prater’s feelings toward Red, who is actually Dexter, are more complicated than just admiration. He respects the other members of the club, but he doesn’t really like them. Red is different. He sees something in Red that he has never seen in anyone else. There is a sense of potential friendship or connection. Prater experiences what could almost be called empathy or affection for the first time. The kindness and intelligence Red (Dexter) shows, despite the violence surrounding them, fascinates him.

Prater becomes a dark mirror to Dexter because he could have been someone like Dexter under different circumstances. Both are fascinated by killers. But Dexter kills to channel his urges, and Prater studies and collects them. He is intrigued by the method, the mindset, and the discipline.

Dexter, posing as Red, now has to make his way through the psychological scrutiny of someone who sees through deception. It's no longer just usual threats.
