Their relationship challenges Dexter's identity and code while also giving him a feeling of normalcy and the possibility of atonement. Their connection is both risky and captivating because of the conflict between Dexter's darker tendencies and his longing for love.

Hannah serves as Dexter's confidante and a threat throughout the series, and she is passionately protective of the people she loves. This is especially Dexter's kid, Harrison, whom Hannah looks after following Dexter's initial abduction as per the show’s plot.

Despite her increasing feelings for Dexter, her aggressive inclinations persist, and this makes her a formidable yet sympathetic figure. And Hannah's ultimate fate is revealed off-screen in Dexter: New Blood.
