Did Alicia die in The Chi? Character’s fate explored

Created by Lena Waithe, The Chi is a drama series featuring Jason Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Yolonda Ross, and more. The show revolves around the lives of a group of African-American people who live in the South Side of Chicago. The Chi has seven seasons till now, and the show premiered on May 18, 2025.

The season 7 finale of The Chi aired recently, and the episode had a lot of twists and turns. After Rob’s death, Alicia is making enemies as she wants revenge. While Nuck has tried to keep his involvement in Rob’s death a secret, he also has to stay cautious. On the other hand, Keisha and Tiff are awaiting the birth of their babies. Most importantly, the episode also reveals the unfortunate death of Alicia.

Did Alicia die in The Chi? The character and the finale episode explored

Alicia teams up with Detective Toussiant and gets Reg arrested as he is trying to rob. However, Reg’s girlfriend, Candice, is able to get him out on bail. Since Reg was unarmed when he was arrested, he does not get heavy charges and decides to go after Alicia.

Candice regrets getting Reg out, and it is revealed that her mentor’s real identity is Alicia. Reg decides to set a trap for Alicia. He uses Candice to get Alicia out of her house. As Alicia and Candice have a meal at the restaurant, Reg breaks into Alicia’s apartment and leaves a message, and also commits a robbery.

On the other hand, Tiff gets ready for her delivery, and Victor helps her throughout, even when she wants to get her bag of supplies, which has a picture of Rob, the father of her child. However, this leads to Tiff getting stuck in traffic while going through labor pains.

When they do arrive at the hospital, the duo gets stuck in the elevator, and it seems that Tiff will have to give birth in the elevator with Victor there to support her. Victor gets ready for the delivery, and a moment of relief is captured in The Chi as the baby is delivered successfully, and Tiff gives birth to a baby boy.

Afterwards, Tiff, Victor, and the baby are rescued, and Tiff gets medical care. Tiff tells Alicia about the news and names her son Rob Junior. However, Tiff also learns that her house has been robbed.

On the other hand, Keisha’s water also breaks, and she and Emmett also prepare. Keisha wanted a water birth at home, and therefore, she only has to focus on delivering the baby. While Keisha is giving birth, Emmet’s mother, Jada, who is battling her cancer, is kept company by Darnell during her last moments. When Jada learns about Keisha’s delivery, she feels revved and wants to meet her grandchild before leaving.

She tells Darnell to take her to Emmett’s house, and she arrives just in time to meet her granddaughter, whom Emmett and Keisha name after her grandmother. Ultimately, the family has a sweet moment as Jada and Emmett have a sweet moment, and Emmett says that he will not leave Chicago.

The Chi season 7 ending, and does Alicia die?

While Reg only breaks in and steals things from Alicia’s home, he does not do any real harm to her. Instead, problems arise when Roselyn, Douda’s wife, comes to town. She wants to avenge her husband’s death as she found a posthumous note from him that encouraged her to do so.

Firstly, Roselyn goes to Nuck, who is thought of as the person behind the deceased mob boss’s death; however, he manages to talk himself out of the suspicions.

Instead, he pins the blame on Alicia and insists that she is the one who shot Douda. As Douda had earlier killed Alicia’s brother, Roselyn believes Nuck and she arrives at the Daniels Lafayette house with a gun. Alicia is unable to convince Roselyn of her innocence. Instead, she agrees that she did plan on killing Douda in revenge.

She also tells the truth about the new mob boss’ involvement in the murder of the old one. But Roselyn now firmly believes that Alicia is the killer of her husband.

Therefore, Roselyn shoots Alicia and empties the bullets into her. Therefore, Alicia dies in The Chi season 7 finale. Alicia is unfortunately unable to bring her son Rob’s death to justice, and Nuck ensures that Alicia gets killed instead of him. The mob boss arrives on the scene to check on Tiff, but he flees when he learns about Alicia’s death.

However, Shaad and Victor get in the wrong place at the wrong time, and the police are also circling the premises. Therefore, the two could get into trouble in the future. While Nuck is safe for now, Roselyn could find out about him and also kill him.
