The latest episode of Top Chef Season 22 announced an elimination, which left the cheftestants and host Kristen emotional. Episode 12 saw Massimo Piedimonte's elimination.

Despite Massimo's quirky nature and larger-than-life personality, his culinary skills and humour were something that everyone looked forward to, including host Kristen Kish.

Along with his fellow cheftestants in the culinary competition, Massimo's culinary skills have been remarkable and have been praised by both the judges and the host. His charismatic personality can be a topic for discussion, but his unique culinary skills have not gone unnoticed on Bravo's Top Chef Season 22.

Top Chef Season 22: Massimo's personality and culinary skills leave everyone speechless

Throughout Massimo's time on Top Chef Season 22, he has created some fantastic dishes and impressed the judges with his unique gourmet approach. Judges Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio, along with show host Kristen Kish, have been commending Massimo's continuous creativity and positive approach throughout the competition.

Along with the regular judges, some of the guest judges have also noticed Massimo's extraordinary culinary skills—for instance, episode 9 featured guest judge Greg Tarzan Davis. Witnessing Massimo's dish, he remarked that he loved Massimo for the presentation of his dish.

The same episode also featured show host Kristen Kish complementing Massimo for his hospitality in the challenge. She noticed how he greeted the judges, who were there as customers, with Prosecco, making their dining experience even more amazing.

However, that might not be the case for everyone around Massimo. One of the guest judges, Janet Zuccarini, stated that he should have had a more reserved and professional approach.

The recently released episode 12 featured Massimo's elimination, right before the show's finale. That was the moment when everyone truly felt what it meant to have Massimo around them every day. Even with his quirky personality, he was the magical element that kept things light and funny.

"Massimo, please pack your knives and go," Kristen Kish announced.

As she tried to hold back her emotions, the cheftestants were shocked and emotional, seeing Massimo going home.

Massimo responded that it "hurt" him to listen to her saying those words. Kristen replied that it also hurt her to "say it." While the sunglasses obscured her eyes, Kristen's voice carried a heaviness due to the emotions she was feeling, just like everyone else around her. The Top Chef judges and the Top 4 finalists were all emotional.

"You've made Canada very, very proud, Massimo," said Gail Simmons.

With his larger-than-life personality and humorous nature, Massimo joked and told Gail not to make him cry. Even when leaving the show, he was making everyone laugh during such an emotional moment.

"Massimo, I truly looked forward to seeing you every morning. I really did," said Top Chef Host Kristen Kish with a heavy heart and emotional voice.

While packing his knives, Massimo confessed to the cameras that he had learned from his mistakes. His parting words, where he stated, nothing was going to "taint" this experience from Top Chef, were really remarkable.

As we all know, being eliminated from a competition, especially a culinary one, is harder for the contestants to accept. With such experience, passion, and skills, going home is tough.

However, Massimo, with his quirky nature and positive attitude, refused for his elimination to taint the experience he had while being on Top Chef. It would have been even more enjoyable to witness Massimo competing in the Bravo show's finale.

Top Chef Season 22 will release its finale episodes on June 5 and June 12, 2025, on Bravo.
