DC Studios surprised its fans with a glimpse of Wonder Woman in the upcoming DCU reboot Creature Commandos. The fans were disappointed with the news that Gal Gadot would not reprise her role as Wonder Woman in the new DCU. A new actress would take over the iconic role as James Gunn, and Peter continue to build a new universe.
The premiere episode of Creature Commandos suggested the inclusion of Wonder Woman in James DCU. The show connects with the key elements of Themyscira, the home of the Amazonians, through a news report suggesting a potential plot connection with the lore of Wonder Woman and, hence, the character's introduction.
DCU shocks fans with the first look of Wonder Woman in Creature Commandos
The premiere episode of Creature Commandos mentions the "Sons of Themyscira," a male extremist group led by Circe, a classic Wonder Woman antagonist. This connects the plot directly to the world of Wonder Woman and her introduction later in the DCU timeline.
At the end of the last episode of Creature Commandos, "Cheer to the Tin Man," DCU showed the teaser of the next week's episode portraying captured Cerci and the apocalyptic world she was trying to prevent. The new teaser showcases more dead superheroes with them. It shows the Wonder Woman impaled on spikes. Diana's iconic tiara was also the main focus of the shot, shown in the foreground splashed with blood.
Other heroes seen in the movie are - Milly Alcock's Supergirl, Isabela Merced's Hawkgirl, Booster Gold, Wonder Woman, and Damian Wayne.
Unlike Gal Gadot's version of Wonder Woman, this doesn't sport a gladiator skirt. However, it's unknown if this will be her final design for upcoming DCU films.
Creature Commandos: Will Wonder Woman join the DCU later in the timeline?

While this tease with a glimpse of Wonder Woman is exciting there has been no confirmation of bringing Wonder Woman as a fully-fledged character, therefore no definite sign of it becoming a reality. Themyscira-focused TV series, Paradise Lost, has been announced. This series is expected to explore the earliest days of Themyscira long before Diana Prince's birth. This would also help establish a women-led island nation and inculcate Diana's origin story within DCU. The connections drawn in Creature Commandos might serve as a precursor to this show.
Officially in writing, there has been no suggestion or confirmation on who could take up the iconic role of Wonder Woman. However, there could also be room for Wonder Woman's solo project with more than half of Chapter 1 being kept a secret from its viewers. Therefore we can expect more news on the character shortly, especially when the character is still so popular among the fans.
