The final chapter of Alice in Borderland drops in just a few hours, leaving fans eager to know Arisu and Usagi’s fate. Will they survive the game once again, or is this the end for them? Everything will be revealed in the upcoming Season 3 on Netflix.
While Arisu, Usagi, and their friends are the heart of the Japanese thriller, other characters like Hikari Kuina have also made Alice in Borderland an engaging series. Played by Aya Asahina, Kuina was initially believed to be a shallow figure, but as the story continued, she proved her skills and determination to live.
Kuina's story is quite emotional as she was born as a male, with her father always expecting her to be incredibly strong and become a martial artist in the future. After years of criticism and pressure, Kuina finally left home.
She promised never to return to her father, and at this time, she had found herself. Fortunately, Kuina's mother wasn't as evil as her father and encouraged her to experiment with makeup and embrace her identity. This way, Kuina was finally able to live the life she always wanted to.
Exploring Kuina's journey in the deadly world of Alice in Borderland

Just like Arisu, Usagi, Chota, and other players, Kuina also found herself inside Borderland, forced to compete in the deadly games or die immediately. Despite looking reckless at first, Kuina emerged as one of the most capable survivors in Alice in Borderland.
She met Arisu for the first time when Kuina was a part of Chishiya's group. As the games begin, Kuina joins "The Beach" community, tasked with finding all the cards to escape Borderland. To survive, Chishiya and Rizuna started stealing cards and fooling others, but Kuina felt guilty of their actions.
Later, she participates in the Ten of Hearts, assisting An with the forensics and facing Takatora Samura, a violent militant who had burned down a hotel. Kuina confronts him in a fight, employing her martial arts training inspired by both her father's training and care from her mother, and successfully defeats him.
The fight showcases her growth and self-acceptance, confronting the old pain that her father caused. Kuina comes across the room for spectators underground after the Ten of Hearts game.
Ultimately, she joins in on the game of King of Clubs and plays with Niragi. Kuina uses her skills to fight, but she loses despite having competed against her opponent. She is deeply affected by Tatta’s death, honoring him with flowers. Eventually, Kuina reunites with An in the Queen of Clubs game, and together they win.
Alice in Borderland is all about the deadly games, and Kuina and her friends later face the King of Spades. She fights for her and An's survival and gets hurt during the game. Finally, Kuina was able to win, but was devastated to see how injured An was.
