Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is all set to premiere on Disney+ in December 2025 with an even bigger and more fantastical adaptation of the fan-favorite book series by Rick Riordan. The second season is set to be an adaptation of the second book in the series, Sea of Monsters.

According to the cast and the creators, Season 2 will be a complete upgrade from the first one in terms of grandness, fantastical elements in the lives and the adventures it chronicles. The brand-new poster released by Disney+ for Percy Jackson and the Olympians proves all of these claims true. Here's everything we know about the upcoming series.

In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover Underwood in the Disney+ series, revealed about Season 2 that:

"It's going to be a lot bigger, a lot more epic, [and] a lot wetter"

The latest poster for the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 seems to echo these sentiments.

According to Leah Jeffries, who plays Annabeth, while the first season concerned Percy, Annabeth, and Grover facing huge monsters, the second season will be about more than one adventure happening at a time. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 will follow multiple characters and their quests even when Percy isn't around.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 takes the show off The Volume, an LED screen stage that was used in the first season, into the real world and builds practical sets. Several iconic filming locations, from the princess's cruise ship and the jungle cave lair to the tropical island spa and chariot races, were all built, contributing to the epic sense of this season. According to Simhadri:

"All of those aren't things that you can replicate on a volume stage. Those have to be real. Those have to be grand. And it was just so insane seeing those come to life."

Several crucial developmental moments were cut from the book during the film adaptation; however, the cast and the creators assure readers and fans that the series is sticking closely to the books, and even though there might be some plot changes along the way, they won't be disappointed. Riordan mentions:

"We're following the arc of the books pretty closely"

This doesn't mean that Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is going to be exactly the same as the books, as Riordan being on board for the project along with the team does give them the chance to look at the source material and turn it into something that fits into the contemporary world and not what it used to be two decades ago. Riordan explains:

"For me, as the author, it was a chance to go back and revisit the material from, I hope, a more mature standpoint, understanding more, and understanding also that the world is not what it was 20 years ago, and we need to honor that and respect that and be cognizant of more sides of the story."

The dedication that this team has for these adaptations is all a Percy Jackson and the Olympians fan needs, and to make things even better, the show has already been renewed for a third season after production wrapped up for Season 2.
