Doctor Who is a fan-favorite show, and the current installment with Ncuti Gatwa is no different. The series began in Season 1 with the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday as his companion as they go on adventures.
The second season of this new Doctor Who chapter starts after Ruby Sunday departs the TARDIS. After a holiday one-episode team-up with a temporary companion by the name of Joy in a Christmas special, the Doctor encounters Belinda Chandra.
Season 2 has completed the first four episodes, with Episode 5 scheduled to come out on May 10, 2025. It will continue Doctor and Belinda's quest as they also face new challenges.
Initially, Belinda just wanted a lift home, but she unexpectedly ends up on an unpredictable quest around strange galaxies. During this season, the Doctor and Belinda encounter all manner of strange and thrilling threats.
There are flying saucers, anti-gravity explorers, and even bad guys who look like they stepped out of a cartoon. The adventures are not only on alien worlds but also on Earth itself, and they involve both personal crises and threats to the whole world.
Old familiar faces also reappear, including Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and the military science team UNIT, assisting in fighting off great threats. One of the returning characters is Mrs. Flood, who is known to be a foe, hinting established rivalries are still in play.

What happened in Doctor Who Season 2 Episode 4: A quick recap
The Doctor Who Season 2 episode starts with the Doctor and Belinda arriving on Earth, but they're 18 years off — it's 2007, not 2025. Fireworks illuminate the sky, and they encounter a young boy named Conrad. The Doctor hands him a coin, saying it's his lucky day.
Years later, Conrad is a podcaster who's fixated on alien occurrences. He invites Ruby Sunday on his show and hints at her adventures with the Doctor, in addition to commending UNIT. The two of them bond closer and finally get a romantic relationship going.
Life turns sour when an evil beast by the name of the Shrek re-emerges. It had previously marked Conrad and Ruby with an ugly-smelling goo, designating them as victims. Ruby presents Conrad with an antidote and a video by UNIT, which proves that the Shreek is not an imaginary creature.
But it was discovered that Conrad and his gang staged a bogus new attack in order to discredit UNIT in the Doctor Who episode. He orchestrates a brutal break-in at their headquarters, taking Ruby and other people hostage to extort a confession from UNIT live on the air.
Kate Stewart releases the actual Shrek to prevent him, and it attacks Conrad before Ruby can intervene. He's taken in, but the harm has been done — now the public doubts UNIT's integrity.
At the end of the Doctor Who episode, the Doctor pays a visit to Conrad in jail, telling him that he'll die alone at 49. Conrad dismisses it with a laugh. As the Doctor turns away, Mrs. Flood appears seemingly out of nowhere and releases him, implying that greater schemes are afoot.
