Episode 1 of Down Cemetery Roads:
The big boom that started it all - Episode 1 of Down Cemetery Road
Let's start with Sarah and how she's a woman who works in a museum. She likes fixing paintings and she likes to keep things around her neat. Her husband, Mark, likes things that shine i.e., good food, good wine, and people who can help his career.
One night, they have a dinner party with their friends Rufus and Wigwam, and a man named Gerard with his wife Paula. Everything is fine. People are talking, laughing and then...BOOM!

An explosion shakes the entire street. The noise is so big that everyone starts to let out loud screams. Sarah runs outside and she sees that the house next door is on fire. The smoke is thick and that's when the people realize it's her neighbor Maddie’s house.
The fire department is called and Sarah just stands there, scared. Then she hears that Maddie is gone but her little girl Dinah, is alive and has been taken away by an ambulance. Sarah feels something deep inside her chest. She doesn’t even know the kid that well, but she feels like she has to help.
That night, Sarah looks out her window and sees a man standing far away. He’s just watching. Not moving. Just staring. His name, we’ll learn later, is Downey, and he’s the first crack in this story of Down Cemetery Road.
A mystery that won’t go away
The next morning, people are acting like the explosion is just an accident. But Sarah can’t stop thinking about Dinah. So, she decides to take a card and goes to the hospital to give it to her, but when she gets there, the nurses and guards act very weirdly. They won’t let her in.
They tell her Dinah can’t have visitors and Sarah doesn’t really understand this because why can’t a sad and sick little girl get a card? Why is everyone pretending nothing happened?
That’s when Sarah meets Joe who is a private investigator. He’s someone who’s seen and heard too many lies. Sarah tells him what happened, and he listens. He believes her when no one else does. Joe starts to dig into the explosion, and what he finds makes everything darker.
Far away, we see two people talking — Hamza and C. They wear suits and speak softly. They know about Dinah, about the explosion, about everything. But they call it “an operation.”
They say it was meant to be clean, but it wasn’t. It sounds like Dinah was simply meant to be taken away but someone made a mistake and now, they need to make sure no one finds out.
Sarah can’t let go in Episode 1 of Down Cemetery Road
Sarah starts seeing things that don’t make sense. The newspaper writes about the explosion but never says Dinah’s name. When she checks the story online, it’s been changed and Dinah just doesn’t exist anymore. It’s like someone’s erasing her from the world.
Sarah feels like she’s losing her mind. But Joe tells her she’s right and that someone is hiding something.

Meanwhile, her husband Mark is no help at all. He tells her to stop asking questions. He says she’s embarrassing him in front of his business friends. Mark only cares about how things look. He doesn’t care about what’s real.
So Sarah keeps going alone. But danger starts to follow her. A grey van keeps showing up. A man is always inside, watching her. And just when she thinks she might be close to finding Dinah, Joe calls her with bad news.
He’s found something...something big but before he can tell her, he dies. The police say it’s suicide, but Sarah knows Joe wasn’t that kind of man. And she’s not the only one who thinks so.
Episode 2 of Down Cemetery Road:
The truth has sharp teeth
Episode 2 of Down Cemetery Road starts off with Joe’s death shaking everyone who cared about him. His partner Zoe is furious. She’s clever, brave, and doesn’t believe a word the police say. When she goes through Joe’s things, she notices something strange which is the gun was in his left hand, but Joe was right-handed.
That’s all Zoe needs to know. Someone killed him.
She meets Sarah, who looks broken. At first, Zoe blames her for everything. But soon, she realizes Sarah didn’t kill Joe. Together, they start looking through Joe’s files. There are names, codes, photos, and one word that keeps showing up: “Project.” It means something big and something about Dinah’s mother, Maddie, and the people who wanted her gone.
Hamza starts to crack in Episode 2 of Down Cemetery Road
With Down Cemetery, dack in the government world, Hamza feels guilty. He didn’t want people to die. He just wanted his job done right. But C, his boss, doesn’t care. She says people die all the time. It’s the price of “order.” She scares him. She scares everyone.

We see that C runs everything from the cover-ups, the clean-ups to the lies. She tells her team to watch Sarah and Zoe, and to make sure they “stop asking questions.”
Hamza starts to wonder if he’s on the wrong side. But it’s too late. Once you’re in this world, there’s no way out.
Mark’s secrets and Paula’s scarf
While Sarah’s chasing the truth in Down Cemetery Road, Mark is busy hiding his own lies. He keeps meeting Gerard and Paula, pretending it’s just business, but there’s something between them that feels strange again.
One day, Sarah finds Paula’s scarf stained with blood at Joe’s office. How did it get there? It means Paula was there the night Joe died.
Sarah takes it to the police, thinking they’ll help. But instead, it only makes things worse. Someone’s watching her now.
The man in her house - Episode 2 of Down Cemetery Road
That night Sarah comes home and sees that the balcony door is open. She walks in and that's when someone grabs her from behind.
It’s her neighbor Rufus, but Rufus isn’t really Rufus. His real name is Axel, and he’s the guy who set up the explosion in Maddie’s house.

He tries to strangle Sarah but she kicks and fights and gasps, but he’s too strong. Just when it feels like she’s about to be killed by Axel, the door opens up and the man from the grey van, Downey, shoots Axel before he can kill Sarah.
Two women against the world
After the attack, Zoe finds Sarah again. She helps her breathe, helps her calm down. Together, they come to a realization that there’s no going back now. Dinah’s being suddenly taken away, Maddie’s death in the explosion, Joe’s murder, they’re all inter-connected. And now, both of them are targets.
But instead of giving up, they decide to keep fighting and they decide to keep looking for answers. They’re two ordinary women, standing up against people with power, secrets, and guns.
The ones in the dark in Episode 2 of Down Cemetery Road
By the end of Episode 2 of Down Cemetery Road, you know something bad is still out there.
Sarah is alive, but she’s not the same anymore after the attack. Zoe, though, is done waiting. She’s angry, and she’s tired of being lied to.

Hamza looks like he’s standing in two worlds at once. He’s got his badge, his rules, and his orders but he’s also got that look, the one that says he knows something isn’t right and then there’s C. The kind of person who smiles while they’re pulling the strings. And somewhere, out there in the cold and the dark, Down Cemetery Road has little Dinah still missing.
The first two episodes of Down Cemetery Road are not just about a missing girl or an explosion. They’re about what happens when lies grow too big to hide. It’s about fear, guilt, and how truth can be louder than any bomb.
Sarah started as someone who just wanted to be kind. Zoe started as someone who wanted revenge for her partner. But together, they're the only people brave enough to walk down a dark road and not turn back.
