With multiple Emmy nominations and critical acclaim, Dying For Sex has become one of the year's most talked-about shows. Here's a breakdown of the central characters and the powerhouse talent behind the successful series.
Michelle Williams plays Molly Kochan

Williams plays the protagonist, Molly Kochan, a woman with stage IV breast cancer in FX's Dying for Sex. After her diagnosis, she decides to walk away from her emotionally unavailable husband, Steve, and chase s*xual liberation.
It's an unusually bold role, and Williams nails it effortlessly. Her portrayal of the carefree cancer patient who responds to the diagnosis not with fear but with freedom and pleasure is loved by both the critics and the audience. This role earned her an Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Limited Series.
Born on September 9, 1980, Williams is a popular American actress well known for her roles in Dawson's Creek, Brokeback Mountain, Weny and Lucy, My Week with Marilyn, Fosse/Verdon, Shutter Island, Venom, to name a few. She has won several accolades, including Golden Globes and Primetime Emmys.
Jenny Slate plays Nikki Boyer

Opposite Williams is comedian and actress Jenny Slate, playing a fictionalized version of podcast host Nikki Boyer. As Molly's lifelong best friend and reluctant caregiver, Nikki is both her confidante and emotional anchor.
Best known for her roles in Obvious Child and voice work in Big Mouth and Bob's Burgers, Slate's performance in Dying For Sex is a career best-subtle, heartbreaking, and hilarious in equal parts. Her role in the FX series has earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology series or movie.
Rob Delaney plays Neighbor Guy

The popular Boston-born comedian and actor Rob Delaney, well known for his roles in The Great North, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Catastrope, plays Molly's neighbor in Dying for Sex. He's called Neighbor Guy throughout the series.
Delaney, fresh off Deadpool & Wolverine, brings a surprising depth and unfiltered vulnerability to a character. Delaney has also bagged an Emmy nomination for Dying for Sex alongside Williams and Boyer. He's nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series.
Jay Duplass plays Steve
Duplass plays Steve, Molly's husband. When Molly is diagnosed with stage IV terminal cancer, she decides to walk out of the marriage as she realizes he's not fit for her growing s*xual desires.
