Dynamite Kiss episode 5 recap: Ji-hyeok saves Da-rim only to claim that she belongs to him now

Dynamite Kiss episode 5 recap: Ji-hyeok rescues Da-rim only to put her in another trouble

Episode 5 of Dynamite Kiss begins with Ji-hyeok rushing to save Da-rim from the loan sharks. He simply asks the loan sharks if they accept credit and pays off the debt. And right when Ji-hyeok sees Da-rim got cuts on her hands, Ji-hyeok pulls the man and warns him to never trouble Da-rim.

When she finally comes around, he doesn’t make a scene. He simply takes her home, trying to act as if this moment isn’t as intimate as it actually is. Later, Ji-hyeok brings medicines for Da-rim, and while reaching the car, he sees her tearing up, as the moment with those loan sharks was dangerous.

Ji-hyeok brings Da-rim home safely, and while he gives her bandages and medicine, Seon-u is watching them from the shadows. He's right by the window, observing Ji-hyeok and Da-rim.

Later, Seon-u apologizes to Da-rim for not being able to help her in this situation. He was unaware that the loan sharks were troubling her.

Dynamite Kiss episode 5: Ji-hyeok tries to mask his worry with new rules for Da-rim at work

The next morning, Ji-hyeok tries to convince himself that he rescued Da-rim because she’s simply part of his team. But his actions betray him, so he shifts back into his usual strict persona to hide the softer feelings creeping in.

He micromanages her down to her shoes, makes her climb the stairs for petty reasons, and reminds her, half-teasing, half-serious, that she "owes" him her organs since he cleared her debt.

Since she has nothing to offer, Da-rim swallows the humiliation. Meanwhile, Ha-yeong lands Seon-u as the photographer for a Natural BeBe campaign. Little did Seon-u know that Ha-yeong was gradually developing feelings for him as Seon-u kept thinking about Da-rim.

When the team heads out on an environmental tree-planting trip, Da-rim notices Ji-hyeok lingering by a tree tied to memories of his mother. She even takes his pictures and asks Ji-hyeok to make cute poses instead of his usual tough style.

Later in the evening in episode 5 of Dynamite Kiss, Da-rim shares this with Seon-u, and his face clearly shrinks. This suggests how confused Seon-u is about his feelings right now.

During the outing, Da-rim helps a struggling mother with her baby’s nappy and learns about a brand that donates part of its profits to eco-friendly efforts. She brings this idea to Ji-hyeok, and he successfully pitches it to the company.

And when Ji-hyeok's rivals at the company try to bring him down, he uses this idea to impress the leader. Ji-hyeok then puts Da-rim in charge of the upgraded project, as she gave a new idea.

Dynamite Kiss episode 5 ends with explosive possibilities for Da-rim and Ji-hyeok

With Da-rim now leading the project, Ha-yeong appoints Seon-u as the photographer. And when Ji-hyeok sees how convincingly Da-rim gets along with him, he feels jealous and frustrated, but Seon-u is very happy.

During the team trip, Ha-yeong even arranges a personal birthday shoot with him earlier in the day, and her feelings start to deepen. At the evening dinner, Seon-u continues calling Da-rim affectionate names like "honey," making the entire team gush over their chemistry.

On the other side, Da-rim is internally praising her best friend for putting up such a real act, unaware that Seon-u isn't faking. Later that night, Ha-yeong confesses her feelings by kissing Seon-u and pleading with him not to share a room with Da-rim. Since she knows that the two are pretending, she also makes her feelings clear.

By the end of the Dynamite Kiss episode 5, Ji-hyeok is shocked to see Ha-yeong and Seon-u kissing. He thinks that Seon-u is cheating on his wife. And just when Da-rim is about to witness the act, Ji-hyeok pulls her over.
