Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7 is titled Second Chances. It was released on Netflix on December 18, 2025.
We are deep into Season 5 of the popular rom-com-dramedy. Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) is living her best chaotic life, juggling the sparkly messiness of love and work.
So, in Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7, Emily has a lot on her plate. She is forced to deal with old wounds and crazy work stuff, and just when she thinks she has got it under control, people from her past show up. She has to face her feelings about Marcello, and at work, she is knee-deep in a rebranding for a client who is kind of a disaster.
Everything is classic Emily in Paris: outrageously stylish outfits, complicated friendships, and a surprising amount of real emotional growth. This season is all about making peace with the past, reinventing yourself, and figuring out if people (and maybe cities) really do deserve a second shot.
Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7 recap: Second Chances

Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7 kicks off with Sylvie up on a marketing panel, sounding all cool and decisive. She is repping Agence Grateau, bragging about how they dragged Muratori Fragrances back from the brink. According to her, marketing is all about shaking things up. This kind of sets the mood for what’s about to go down.
And then, Marcello pops up during the Q&A. Instead of asking a real question, he is dragging out old drama, especially with Emily. Everyone knows the Muratori campaign blew up, got all the buzz and praise, but Marcello spins it into a whole thing about lost tourism dollars and the brand losing its soul. He is not just poking at Sylvie. He is twisting the knife for Emily, too.
The real surprise comes when Marcello says that he ditched the Muratori family gig completely. Now, he is out to start his own fancy luxury brand. Still, we wonder: is he chasing freedom, or is he just running from Emily and all that mess?
Emily, obviously rattled, corners Marcello right in front of a swarm of press. He insists he is out of Muratori for good, but he can’t even spit out a proper apology.
In Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7, Mindy is trying to patch things up. She ropes Emily into a dinner with Marcello and Nico, probably praying for some sort of miracle where everyone hugs it out. Emily is not having it. She is stubborn and thinks Marcello should step up if he actually cares.
And Mindy won’t let it go. She is blowing up Emily’s phone with “updates,” with sneaky little hints that Marcello is still hung up on her. Just to make things messier, turns out Nico is now throwing money into Marcello’s new venture, so now everyone is tangled up in Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7.
Still, credit where it’s due. Mindy is learning. She owns up to her screw-ups and actually tries to nudge Emily to stop ducking out on her feelings, which is Emily’s signature move when stuff gets tricky. So maybe she is not perfect, but she is trying.
On the other hand, Sylvie’s storyline takes some wild turns. She is dragged to Yvette’s fancy dinner, and here comes Mr. Swiss-German Chocolatier, supposedly her next love interest. He is painfully bland, their vibe is DOA, and his “personalized” chocolates are a disaster. They show up at the agency, and everyone hates them.
Bored out of her mind, Sylvie bails early and runs into Beau, a hot, younger guy who, by some miracle, has her favorite smokes. Sparks fly. They hook up, and Sylvie is surprised by herself. She doesn’t even bother with names or any emotional junk.
Workwise, after her panel gig, Sylvie gets approached by Rolin, the big boss at Apogee Waters. He needs help, and turns out the company has been donating to anti-gay groups. Julien is pissed, and he flat-out refuses to touch the project. Sylvie, maybe chasing the business, doesn’t get just how deep this cuts. Julien calls her out, and he is right.
Then Rolin shows up, acting all high and mighty, blaming mistakes made by ancestors. The refusal sparks tension, raising a fundamental question: Can a brand truly change without accountability? Emily jumps in with a new idea, change everything: name, image, and wipe the slate clean.
And then, Julien finds out Rolin is gay himself. That doesn’t exactly erase the company’s ugly history, but it does flip the script a bit. Julien shifts gears; maybe there’s a way forward. He pitches a relaunch at Paris Pride itself. Now that’s a move. So, Apogee Waters is dead. And we have a new name, Libid’eau.

In Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7, the showdown between Emily and Marcello is seriously overdue. They finally hash it out on this horseback ride with Mindy and Nico tagging along. When they finally get a second alone, Marcello owns up, saying maybe he should have spoken up sooner. Emily is not buying it, though. She tells him that he made her feel like a project, not a person.
Their discussion gets interrupted. Emily’s horse just loses it and bolts. Marcello saves her, but that rescue doesn’t fix squat. Emily is still hurt, and Marcello is over here fumbling, not really getting how hard he messed up.
Cut to the Pride parade in Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7. Mindy is living her best life, performing on the Libid’eau float. Just before her performance, she verifies if Emily intentionally positioned her on a former homophobic float, a scene that highly emphasizes Mindy’s personal development and realization.
Nico and Marcello show up, get mistaken for backup dancers, and suddenly we have a little comic relief. But underneath the sparkle and glitter, Emily and Marcello’s drama is still simmering. Then Mindy steps in, and she calls Emily out for always running when things get heavy. She implores Emily not to allow ego to destroy something significant, particularly on a day that honors being true to oneself and embracing one’s imperfections. That actually lands. For once, Emily listens.

Next thing you know, Emily finds Marcello. And this time, the apologies are real. They both admit they screwed up. They decide to give it another shot, and they seal it with a kiss because, of course, they do. Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7 is one of Season 5’s strongest episodes. It balances romance, social commentary, and character development with surprising nuance.
Marcello is still a mess, but at least he is trying. He means well, even if he trips over his own feelings every five minutes. There’s hope for him. Emily finally stops running away from her problems and just faces them, about time. Julien is the agency’s conscience, which they desperately need. Mindy is not just comic relief anymore. She is actually figuring out how to be a decent friend for once.
Sylvie is still out here living like rules are optional, at least in Emily in Paris Season 5 Episode 7. She is proof you don’t need some grand plan to start over. Sometimes you have to dive in and see what happens. Nothing is fixed by the end. But that’s real life. The second chances are supposed to be a little chaotic. In Emily in Paris, they are never neat, but at least everyone looks fabulous while sorting it out.
