Emily in Paris Season 5 receives a major filming update as the crew is set to shoot in Venice soon

Emily in Paris, the Netflix comedy drama about the marketing executive Emily from Chicago, living in Paris, got renewed for a fifth season in September 2024. As announced by the show's official Instagram account, filming for season five began on 7th May 2025. On 2nd July 2025, Netflix confirmed that shooting is currently taking place in Rome, Italy.

Now, the President of Veneto, Luca Zaia, has announced on his Instagram account that Emily in Paris will be filming in Venice, Italy, in August 2025.

Emily in Paris will begin filming in Venice soon

Anyone who has watched Emily in Paris knows how exciting Emily's life is. The end of season four saw Agence Grateau extending its business to Rome, Italy, and Emily moving there to be a part of the Rome office. To fit the story, the show is now being filmed in Italy and will return to France later in the summer.

With work and love taking Emily to Rome, we will witness multiple scenes in Rome and now, as Luca Zaia has announced, many in Venice as well. President Zaia said in his post:

"The famous Netflix series "Emily in Paris' arrives in Venice! From August 15th to 25th, the historic center of Serenissima will be the theater of the fifth season of Emily in Paris, a Netflix production very popular worldwide."

"It's an amazing news, which confirms how our territory is increasingly attractive to the great global audiovisual productions, thanks to its unique heritage and teamwork between institutions and industry workers."

Zaia confirmed that the show will film the fifth season in Serenissima from 15th to 25th August 2025. He expressed his pride at Venice being the location of choice and thanked all the professionals involved.

He also said,

"A round of applause to 360degreesfilm, and @venetofilmcommission filn production company Veneta Doc - these days engaged in inspections together with the director of the series Andrew Fleming - which has established itself as a benchmark at a national and international level."

"It's a pride to see Venetian talents valuing their land and bringing Veneto to millions of homes all over the world!"

Lastly, he welcomed the team of Emily in Paris, saying,

"See you on set, in our beautiful Venice"

He ended the post by tagging the official Netflix account of Italy, followed by some hashtags.

While we don't know when the fifth season of Emily in Paris will be released, we can tell you about the new cast and what to expect from season five. Michèle Laroque will join the show as Sylvie's old friend, Yvette, and Bryan Greenberg will join as an American Jake, who lives in Paris. Joining them for season five is Minnie Driver, who will play Princess Jane.

The returning main cast includes Lily Collins as Emily Cooper, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie Grateau, Ashley Park as Mindy Chen, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, and Eugenio Franceschini as Marcello. Other returning cast members are Samuel Arnold as Julien, Bruno Gouery as Luc, William Abadie as Antoine Lambert, Paul Forman as Nico, Arnaud Binard as Laurent G., Lucien Laviscount as Alfie, and Thalia Besson as Genevieve.

Season five of Emily in Paris will focus on Emily's life in Rome and her relationship with Marcello. As Lily Collins told Tudum,

"Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,”

She continued,

“We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”

About Marcello and Emily, Collins also said,

"I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”

We cannot forget about Gabriel, who, after breaking up with Emily, has realised what he has lost and is now sure that he wants to be with her. But regarding Gabriel and whether he will be reunited with Emily, Collins said,

"Unfortunately, Gabriel has to deal with the repercussions of his choice”

Emily in Paris season five is expected to be released in 2026, and the first four seasons are streaming on Netflix.
