Game of Thrones' Jorah Mormont will go down in TV history as one of the most heroic characters. Played by Iain Glen, Jorah was the ever-present advisor to Daenerys Targaryen.
He was originally a northman, son of Jeor Mormont, and was set to become Lord of the Bear Islands. But he wasn't truly meant for that. Jorah Mormont would make several mistakes, but ultimately go on to protect and advise the Targaryen princess.
Iain Glen, the actor who brought Jorah Mormont to life on screen, spoke about his favourite Game of Thrones sequences in an interview with People TV in 2019 (via Entertainment Weekly). He said,
"Daenerys, and being by her side, has always been kind of my strongest association, [...] [Jorah and Daenerys] lived a very peripatetic existence, were always on the move. And that was a lovely thing. So I enjoyed all the various locations."

Jorah Mormont is first introduced in Game of Thrones as a knight who believes in Viserys Targaryen's claim to the Iron Throne. In reality, he was spending time with the exiled Targaryens to spy on them and report back to Varys in King's Landing. However, Daenerys' determination to become a strong Khaleesi and later the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms swayed him.
Jorah Mormont then became the trusted advisor of Daenerys and vowed to protect her. He also developed romantic feelings for her, but kept them in check and never tried to overstep boundaries. This was, however, short-lived.
Daenerys eventually found out that Jorah was a spy in the past, and she exiled him. During this exile, he acquired greyscale, and while we thought he might not survive it, he did. But before that, he tries to win back his place beside the Mother of Dragons by bringing her Tyrion Lannister. Tyrion was a great addition to her cause, and Daenerys welcomed Jorah back; her only ask was that he get himself cured.
In Game of Thrones, we also find out that before he was a spy for Varys, he was stripped of his titles because he committed a grave crime. He sold poachers into slavery, and then ran away to the free cities so that he wouldn't be executed by Eddard Stark. It is after this that he met the Targaryens and spied on them initially.
In the present timeline of Game of Thrones, Jorah gets himself cured by Samwell Tarly at Oldtown. After that, he joined Daenerys again and served her for the rest of his life, dying at the Battle of Winterfell protecting her.
Irrespective of his journey in Game of Thrones, Jorah Mormont spent most of the show travelling through the free cities of Essos with Daenerys as she freed the slave cities and increased her army. This showed his undying loyalty to her and her cause.
