The Boys Season 5 was announced to be renewed in May 2024, before the Season 4 premiere, but there is still a lot of time before it actually premieres. However, showrunner Eric Kripke has been dropping some pretty exciting hints about the final season here and there.

The showrunner previously revealed that two very special actors were joining the cast list, turning The Boys into a Supernatural reunion of sorts. Jensen Ackles was already a part of the show as Soldier Boy, but now, as per reports, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will also be joining the cast.

Now, Kripke has revealed some more details about the storyline of The Boys Season 5, which involves supernatural actors.

Eric Kripke, showrunner of The Boys Season 5, knows how to treat the Supernatural fandom right. After revealing that Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will be joining Jensen Ackles on The Boys, Kripke has revealed in conversation with TV Insider that the storyline where the three of them were sharing the screen has already been shot.

"It’s a blast. We already shot it. I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other."

Along with Kripke and the actors, Supernatural director Phil Sgriccia also joined in on The Boys set, and according to Kripke, it was honestly nothing short of a high school reunion:

"Having the five of us back together on set, filming, was just so fun and like a high school reunion, and you immediately fall into all your old patterns. It was really heartwarming and nice to like immediately be brought back to these guys that I love and haven’t had them all together, at least in a professional capacity, in years and years. So it was really, really meaningful."

As of now, there is no information about the characters that Padalecki and Collins will be playing in The Boys Season 5, except that Padalecki will be joining as a 'super' human, whether he's a hero or a villain, only time will tell. We already know Ackles will be reprising his role of Soldier Boy in the series.

Last we saw, Soldier Boy was visited by Homelander while he was in a controlled coma in the post-credit scenes of Season 4. This comes after he was involved in an explosion in Season 3 along with Queen Maeve. Queen Maeve lost her powers and went into hiding, and Soldier Boy was recovered and put in a controlled coma.

It will be exciting to see what happens in The Boys Season 5 once Soldier Boy is revived from his coma. There are no hints as to who is going to revive Soldier Boy, if it'll be Homelander himself or somebody else from the other side. Both The Boys and Supernatural fans are extremely excited for the upcoming season owing to this reunion.

There is no release date announcement for The Boys Season 5 as of now, however, it can be expected in 2026.
