After a long wait, Sam Levinson's Euphoria season 3 will arrive on HBO Max, following the lives of its teenage high-schoolers, only this time, they won't be teenagers.
The third season won't pick up right where the second season's finale left us. Instead, it will follow events four years after those final moments. So, we would meet Rue, Jules, Lexi, Cassie, and Maddy as adults, navigating life's challenges long after their graduation. Levinson returns to helm this season, with many cast members also set to reprise their roles.
The returning cast of Euphoria season 3 includes Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi, among others, with a few new faces joining them in the intense drama. For the new season, HBO has brought on board a pop singer-songwriter, a former football player, and more as a part of its new ensemble.
While a few new stars are joining the cast, some old stars won't be returning in the new season, which includes Storm Reid, Austin Abrams, and Barbie Ferreira.
Euphoria Season 3 cast and character guide: Here are the returning cast members
Zendaya as Rue Bennett

Zendaya's Rue has been central to the plot of Euphoria, which follows high schoolers as they navigate their emotional battles, tracing their journey through love, heartbreak, and addiction issues. She would reprise the role for the third season as Rue, but Storm Reid, who played her sister Georgia, and Nika King, who played her mother Leslie, won't return. Apart from Euphoria season 3, Zendaya will soon star in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three.
Hunter Schafer as Jules Vaughn

Hunter Schafer's Jules has been Rue's on-and-off girlfriend throughout Euphoria's two-season run. She was also featured in a series-adjacent special, which was released over a year after the first season's conclusion. As a transgender girl, Jules offers her distinct perspective in this teen addiction drama. Besides this show, there are a few more projects on Schaffer's radar, including David Lowery's Mother Mary and the miniseries, Blade Runner 2099.
Sydney Sweeney as Cassandra "Cassie" Howard

Sydney Sweeney's Cassie has been the force to reckon with throughout the show's run so far. Speaking about Cassie's return in Euphoria season 3, Sweeney recently spoke with Empire Magazine:
"She [Cassie] is crazy. She makes so many mistakes. She’s flawed on so many levels, but she does it all from a place of love."
Other than HBO's hit show, Sweeney will return to the screen in films like Christy, The Housemaid, and Scandalous!, among others.
The rest of the returning cast includes Maude Apatow as Rue's childhood best friend, Alexis "Lexi" Howard; Dominic Fike as Rue and Jules' friend, Elliot; Alexa Demie as Cassie's close friend, Maddy Perez; Jacob Elordi as a toxic high-school star, Nate Jacobs; Eric Dane as Nate's father, Cal; Emmy-winner Colmon Domingo as Rue's motivational friend, Ali Muhammed. They will also be joined by Martha Kelly and Chloe Cherry as new series regulars, playing Laurie and Faye, respectively.
