Euphoria Season 3 is going to be released soon in the spring of 2026, and Sydney Sweeney will be reprising her role as Cassie Howard for the upcoming season. Sweeney is most popular for her performances in Euphoria, The White Lotus, Anyone but You, and, now most recently, Christy. She has also been filming for Euphoria Season 3.

Among all this, there have been rumors that she is being considered to play the next James Bond Girl. Speaking about it with Variety, Sweeney opened up about playing such an iconic role.

Euphoria Season 3 star Sydney Sweeney on if she's the next James Bond Girl

James Bond is one of the most popular film franchises in the world. The first James Bond film, Dr. No, was released in 1962, and since then, 26 more films of the franchise have been released. Many actors have played the role of James Bond, like Sean Connery, David Niven, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig, among others. James Bond films have often included female characters who are called James Bond Girls. These characters are seen to play either Bond's love interest, ally, or enemy in the Bond films. Actresses like Ursula Andress, Michelle Yeoh, Martine Beswick, Shirley Eaton, and Claudine Auger, among others, have played James Bond Girls.

A new James Bond film is in the works, but an actor has yet to be cast as the titular character. A James Bond Girl hasn't been confirmed either, and speculations have hinted at Euphoria Season 3 star Sydney Sweeney being considered to play the part in the upcoming film. When Variety asked Sydney Sweeney if there might be any truth to the speculations, she said,

“I can’t. [Seven-second pause.] I don’t know. [Ten-second pause.] To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it,”

Sweeney has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, but the way she took multiple pauses while speaking on the subject might mean something we're yet to know. We cannot confirm that she is indeed the next James Bond Girl, but there is a slight chance, given how little she spoke about the subject and the way she paused when talking about it. When Variety further asked if she'd consider playing a Bond Girl, Sweeney said,

“Depends on the script,”

She continued,

“I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.”

Sweeney's fans can take this as positive news since the actress has confirmed she is open to it if the script is good. Sweeney ended her statement by saying she'd prefer to play the titular character of the film franchise instead, but that's unlikely to happen given the fact that James Bond has predominantly been a male character and would likely remain as such. But if a female James Bond is written, and a film about her is made, Sweeney would love to play her.

While we cannot confirm if Sweeney will be the next James Bond Girl, we can confirm that she's one of the actors from the main cast reprising her role in Euphoria Season 3. Euphoria Season 3 will take a time jump, which means all the characters will be adults and out of high school. It will be interesting to see how each character evolves, especially Sweeney's character, Cassie Howard, who had one of the most chaotic story arcs of the show last season.

Euphoria Season 3 will release on HBO Max in Spring 2026.
