Golden Buzzer acts from America's Got Talent (AGT) Season 20 so far
Jourdan Blue – Howie Mandel’s celebration of resilience
On the May 27 premiere, street performer Jourdan Blue scored Howie Mandel's Golden Buzzer. Blue’s rendition of “Breakeven” got emotional, and he spoke about being homeless as a teenager and busking on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, referencing a local terror attack in the course of his conversation. One of the most impactful opening-night moments of the season occurred as confetti fell and he fell to his knees, bringing the judges and audience to tears.
Light Wire – Simon Cowell’s visual masterpiece
The Brazilian art group LightWire received Simon Cowell's Golden Buzzer that same evening. Cowell's infrequent emotional kudos went to their dreamy light-based performance, which enthralled with "water-like" illusions and exquisite dance. They were given a direct ticket to the live performances after he referred to the act as "one of the most beautiful, stunning acts" he had ever seen.
Funkateer Dancers – Terry Crews honors Detroit friendship
The Funkateer Dancers, four lifelong friends from Detroit, stunned the judges with a high-energy performance to Rick James' "Give It to Me Baby" during another America's Got Talent audition episode. The panel was moved by their history and dancing. As he praised their camaraderie and sense of hometown pride, host Terry Crews pressed his buzzer, sending them straight to the live round.
Charity Lockhart – Mel B’s empowering selection
Charity Lockhart, a Cleveland singer and single mother, also appeared in a recent episode. She received Mel B's second America's Got Talent Golden Buzzer for her moving performance of "Golden Slumbers" by The Beatles. Mel B was moved by her story, which included living in a car as a single parent, and he said the performance demonstrated her grace and strength.
From strong solo vocalists and stunning visual artists to exuberant dance crews and inspirational tales of tenacity, this season's Golden Buzzer hits perfectly capture the AGT's unique blend of ability, storytelling, and jaw-dropping performance.
