More about Eyes of Wakanda, having a huge espionage thriller

Eyes of Wakanda, a planned animated series rooted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), will premiere on Disney+ on August 6, 2025.

Todd Harris created the program, which follows Hatut Zaraze, a band of elite Wakandan warriors on risky missions to reclaim missing Vibranium treasures at various times in history, and the series covers various eras, beginning at the end of the Western Bronze Age and including adventure, espionage, and historical intrigue.

Harris expressed his enthusiasm for the series in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), characterizing it as a variation on a spy-espionage tale. In order to demonstrate how Wakanda's warriors have influenced the path of history, he described how the storyline will transport viewers across several eras.

Harris also emphasized Wakanda's moral fortitude and tenacity as a country, examining what makes its citizens special—how they have managed to uphold their values for millennia.

In addition to bold missions, the series will explore the intricacies of Wakandan culture and its enigmatic yet potent place in the MCU. According to Harris, Eyes of Wakanda is an adventure akin to James Bond, set against the rich cultural and historical context of Wakanda.

A lifelong fan of comics and history, Todd Harris used his passion to produce a series that blends his two passions. Harris started out as a storyboard artist and worked his way up to director throughout his lengthy career in the entertainment industry.
