Fans of Amazon Prime's Fallout have been debating whether or not they saw an error in the first episode. Viewers had anticipated survivors to appear rugged and exhausted in a world full of destroyed buildings, limited food, and dangerous beasts. However, several characters appeared neatly shaven, which surprised some fans. On X, PC Gamer's review emphasized the game's unconventional design. Here is the post:

The post immediately sparked conversation. Some contended that in a wasteland where supplies were limited and deathclaws prowled, razors would scarcely have been a priority. Others argued that the clean faces undermined the images of a horrible post-apocalyptic existence. The argument had demonstrated how attentively viewers observed every detail, whether it was an oversight or a clever decision.

Caesar Legion's historical errors

Fans of Fallout have identified an intriguing aspect of Caesar's Legion in season 2. The group misinterpreted their background while claiming to adhere to Roman customs. Lucy promptly fixed their errors when she met Lacerta Legate (performed by Macaulay Culkin). Rather than pronouncing Caesar correctly in Roman, the Legion members pronounce him as 'Kaiczar,' like the German Kaiser.

Lucy also noted that prima nocta originated in the Middle Ages rather than being a Roman custom. For the Fallout universe, these historical errors made perfect sense. In essence, the Legion members are crossplayers who adapted Roman imagery and Latin language without knowing the true context. This particular feature exemplified the distortion of knowledge in a post-apocalyptic environment.

The split legion problem

A fan of Fallout had noted that Caesar's Legion had an unusual twist. It presented significant obstacles for season two. After his death, the first Caesar put a note in his pocket with the name of his preferred successor.

The Legion had split into two camps that had been firing at each other for ten years, making it impossible for anybody to reach them. One of the Reddit fans, @evanya88, said:

"The BoS has literally been shown as aggressive, crude, and violent since we literally first saw them beating up Max."

Each party had proclaimed itself the real leader and chosen its own Caesar. This fight was utilized in the series to illustrate how power struggles emerge following the overthrow of rulers. The Legion became simultaneously stronger and weaker as a result of the split.

Amazon's AI recap disaster

Fans discovered significant errors in Amazon's AI-generated recap video before season 2 premiered. The flashback sequences actually occurred in the 2070s, but the recap misrepresented them as occurring in the 1950s. This represented a mistake of about 120 years in the Fallout timeline. Additionally, the AI recap misinterpreted character motivations by implying that the Ghoul had threatened to kill Lucy while, in reality, they were amicable at that time.

Instead of using human editors to produce the recap summary, Amazon used artificial intelligence. Amazon promptly pulled the faulty recap from the streaming platform when fans brought attention to these humiliating errors on social media. The Fallout scene showed that a business might choose cost-cutting over accuracy and quality control. It also demonstrated that AI-generated content can spread false information even in popular entertainment products.
