Fallout Season 2 premiered on Prime Video on December 16, 2025, and has released two episodes so far. The show's story takes place more than two centuries after a nuclear attack, and survival above ground is extremely difficult. Over time, the show has introduced many strange and dangerous creatures that are altered by radiation exposure. Still, one famous mutant from the games had not appeared.

But in Fallout Season 2, Lucy MacLean and The Ghoul finally encounter a Radscorpion, a deadly monster fans have been waiting for from the start.

Fallout Season 2 introduces the Radscorpion into the wasteland

It is quite evident that Fallout Season 2 is trying to build a stronger connection between the television series and the original games. The Wasteland is filled with creatures that survived radiation and changed over generations. Many mutants have already been shown, but Radscorpions were missing until now. Their absence was noticed by fans who are familiar with the games, and thus they were eagerly waiting for the creatures to be finally introduced.

In Fallout Season 2, episode 2, The Golden Rule, we see Lucy MacLean and The Ghoul traveling together as Lucy tries to find her father and hold him responsible for his actions. The Ghoul has his own goal, as he searches for his wife and daughter, whom he believes may be alive inside a protected vault. Their journey takes them into an abandoned building. Inside, they come across a lone survivor who looks injured and exhausted. Lucy immediately wants to help, showing her compassion and eagerness to do the right thing, but The Ghoul hesitates because of their limited supplies.

As The Ghoul explores the area, a massive Radscorpion appears and is seen devouring a smaller scorpion. This is the first time the show has introduced the creature, and it sets a darker tone for what lies ahead. Radscorpions are heavily mutated versions of normal scorpions. Because of radiation, they have grown to a huge size and can sometimes be as large as a vehicle. Their venom is much stronger than that of normal scorpions, making them one of the deadliest creatures in the Wasteland.

In the Fallout video games, Radscorpions are among the most common enemies players face. As described in the game's story, they come in many forms. Some are larger and stronger, while others glow with radiation or attack by spraying toxic fluids. This makes their introduction in Fallout Season 2 even more important. Lucy’s first sighting of a Radscorpion is likely not the last. Given how often they appear in the games, we are most likely going to see them again.

There is also the possibility of seeing different types of Radscorpions later in the season. Stronger versions of the creature could pose serious danger and might also help in fighting other animal mutations. Thus, creatures like this could either threaten the lives of survivors on the ground, especially Lucy and The Ghoul, or help them survive. By finally introducing the Radscorpion, Fallout Season 2 brings the series closer to the games the show is based on. The monster’s presence makes the Wasteland feel more complete, more unpredictable, and far more dangerous.

Fallout Season 2, episode 3, will be released on Prime Video on December 31, 2025.
