Fallout Season 2: Who are the Caesar’s Legion? Details explored

Fallout Season 2 has officially premiered, and the journey to New Vegas that fans have been looking forward to for so long is now underway. As Lucy undertakes this journey with the Ghoul, she discovers that there's a reason why he has managed to survive as long as he has. We've heard him say this enough times: "No good deed goes unpunished," and Lucy's run-in with Caesar's Legion appears to make it clear what The Ghoul meant by his warning.

In the latest episode of the Prime Video show, Lucy and the Ghoul have a run-in with a major faction called Caesar's Legion, who are set to play an important role this season.

Fallout Season 2 introduces a new faction named Caesar's Legion

Prime Video's Fallout Season 2 is adapting the civil war storyline from the New Vegas video game, and this includes the introduction of various factions that are feuding with each other to gain control of New Vegas. We've met the Great Khans and the Brotherhood of Steel, and now Lucy encounters another faction, albeit one of the more dangerous ones, Caesar's Legion.

Caesar's Legion is a totalitarian dictatorship and an imperialistic slaver society founded and led by megalomaniac Edward Sallow, or Caesar, in 2247. Caesar's Legion is inspired by the Roman Empire's military forces, and Caesar considers himself a ruler over the civilized settlements. He rules over the American Southwest by conquering and enslaving tribal societies. Their inspiration for the Roman military goes so far that the members recontextualize the Romans' traditions, language, visuals, and fashion into the post-apocalyptic world.

In the New Vegas game, the Legion's number one opposing force is the New California Republic, and their conflict is a central part of the game. While it isn't clear yet if Fallout Season 2 will be taking a similar route this season, it is sure to be mentioned as Lucy and the Ghoul make their way through New Vegas.

Lucy and the Ghoul come across the Legion in Fallout Season 2 when they encounter a hurt woman in a strange tunic screaming in pain on their way to New Vegas. Lucy, who is a firm believer in "do unto others as you would have done unto yourself," decides to help the woman because, according to her, if she were in her place, she'd like to be helped. Even though the Ghoul warns her against this, Lucy goes off to help her.

The woman they discovered was attacked by a radscorpion and other bloodthirsty creatures. However, after Lucy saves the woman's life from the creatures, the woman soon leads her right to Caesar's Legion, proving the Ghoul's point about no good deeds going unpunished. The army of men are dressed as Roman soldiers, and by the end of the Fallout Season 2 episode, they have their weapons out and have circled Lucy.
