After the impressive run of Season 1 in the Awards circuit, Fallout Season 2 is all set to do the same, sans the Golden Globe Award Ceremony. Prime Video recently released a brand-new trailer for the sophomore season of the post-apocalyptic video game adaptation, announcing a December 17 premiere.

Unlike the first season, the second season will not be a part of the Golden Globes consideration, even though it would be eligible for consideration based on its release date.

Fallout Season 2 will not be a part of the Golden Globe Award Circuit

The Fallout Season 2 release schedule this season is set to coincide with the award circuit this season. After the December 17 premiere of the Prime Video show, the post-apocalyptic adaptation is set to release episodes every week, setting up the season finale for February 4.

This release schedule will also span several award ceremonies, such as the Golden Globe, the Critics' Choice Awards, and others. Despite being released at the same time as the award season, the second season of the video game adaptation is actually eligible to be considered for these awards. However, the Amazon MGM show will not be entering any of these races despite the eligibility.

After the December 17 premiere of Fallout Season 2, three episodes will be available on the platform within the submission deadline. For the show to be in the running for the award circuit, it will have to submit unreleased episodes as well. Considering most of the season will be unreleased at this point, Amazon MGM has opted to skip the run for the awards rather than submitting unreleased episodes, owing to legitimate leak concerns surrounding the hit show.

Therefore, Fallout Season 2 is set to wait to enter the awards circuit until 2026. The Prime Video show is set to enter into consideration in the 2026 Emmys and the 2026 consideration for the 2027 Critics' Choice Awards. This strategy has rendered the show completely out of the Golden Globes' consideration.

The awards circuit run for Fallout this season is wildly different than the one for the first season, which earned 17 Emmy nominations. Nevertheless, such is the case for the second season.

The Ella Purnell and Walter Goggins starrer ended with major cliffhangers by the end of the first season, with Lucy finding out a heartbreaking truth about her father, Hank. By the end of the season, she decides to accompany the Ghoul to New Vegas to track down Hank.

The official trailer for the second season revealed that the two will be facing several roadblocks on their way to New Vegas in the form of notorious creatures and battles. Additionally, Purnell and Goggins are set to be joined by exciting new faces in the new season, such as Macaulay Culkin, Kumail Nanjiani, and Justin Theroux.

A war is brewing, and Fallout Season 2 finds Lucy and the Ghoul right in the middle of it.
