In Peacemaker Season 2 episode 4, ARGUS agents raid Chris’s residence with the motive to kill Eagly. This forces Chris to escape with Eagly using a gateway or access box to shift the QUC location to a cabin. Chris shares some history with the QUC and with the whole relocation and escape technique. However, Peacemaker Season 2 highlights that QUC isn't Auggie's invention. In a flashback to 35 years ago, we see a young Chris, brother Keith, and Auggie encountering a wounded alien in the woods. Nearby, they find a briefcase device and a doorway in the forest, the gateway to QUC.

Chris has used the device twice before. The show states that there are 99 other universes, and QUC connects with several other alternate universes. It has been since childhood that Peacemaker has been using the device, but it is still unclear where the number "99" comes from.
