The Forefront infiltration

In the FBI Season 7 finale, the extremist group Forefront, previously introduced in the season, successfully infiltrates the FBI's New York field office. They distribute cell phones rigged with micro-explosives to agents, resulting in the deaths of nine agents, including Assistant Director-in-Charge Reynolds.

Deputy Assistant Director Simon Keene assumes control, initiating a lockdown and stripping agents of their credentials. Keene is later revealed to be collaborating with Forefront and involved in a broader scheme with Chinese operatives to destabilize U.S. law enforcement.
