FBI Season 8 marks the newest installment of the hit procedural drama. The CBS series has been on air for seven years, but continues to hold a strong viewership, thanks to its action-packed narrative.

The show revolves around the agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation based in New York City as they protect the country from various internal and external threats. Meanwhile, the agents also have to deal with personal troubles and losses.

The team is coming back to face some new challenges in FBI Season 8, which is set to premiere on CBS on October 13, 2025. One of the main questions that the upcoming season will answer is whether Isobel survives after collapsing in the previous chapter’s finale.

The release date of FBI Season 8

CBS has announced the release date of FBI Season 8 as October 13, 2025. The show will air new episodes weekly on Mondays at 9 PM ET / PT. It has had a shift in time slot from the previous season, which aired on Tuesdays at 8 PM, followed by spin-offs FBI: International and Most Wanted, which have now been cancelled.

FBI was renewed through Season 9 back in 2024, and hence, another chapter of the procedural drama is already on the cards. Meanwhile, a new spin-off series, CIA, is also in development, which will premiere during the mid-season schedule on CBS.

The plot of FBI Season 8

In the previous season’s finale, Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille’s fate hung in the balance as she collapsed. While she made it out alive from an explosion, her pulse dropped later while giving a speech to her team. The next season will reveal her fate, depicting whether she survives or not.

Meanwhile, as always, the team will have some gripping new cases to take care of as new threats loom over the country. CBS has unveiled the logline for the first episode, which teases that the agents will have to deal with the case of a federal judge’s disappearance:

“After a federal judge disappears, a routine investigation takes a dark turn as the team uncovers that the judge had been searching for his missing son on a secluded island; reality weighs heavy on Jubal as he takes on a new leadership role.”
