Netflix’s Monster, an anthology series that is already a hit, is hitting the headlines with its next Season 4 updates, this time moving the story to one of the most discussed true-crime personalities in history, Lizzie Borden. New behind-the-scenes images from the Los Angeles set depict the cast and crew in action and provide a fun glimpse of the vintage costumes, the bustling atmosphere, and the strong chemistry between Ella Beatty (who portrays Lizzie) and Charlie Hunnam, who plays a new role.

The images resemble a dim and aged postcard, with flower wreaths, pretty dresses, and a cloud of mysteriousness. The viewers fond of the previous seasons due to their lavish visual imagery and frightening plots will be delighted to learn that Monster Season 4 retains that same creepy feel, only this time in the dramatic backdrop of the late 19th century.

The first look at Monster 4

The new set photos of Monster 4 resemble a gothic Instagram feed: warm sunlight, vintage picnic aesthetics, and old-fashioned dresses that appear to have a story attached to them. In one shot, Ella Beatty can be observed as Lizzie Borden, putting on delicate dresses and a floral wreath, and in another shot, she displays her serious and concentrated look. Charlie Hunnam is shown with a beard and plain robe, which contributes to his rough and natural appearance that is contrasted with elegant period costumes.

The extras and the crew members are also active in the background, and it demonstrates that the production is shooting large and action-filled scenes, not just quiet indoor scenes. Costumes and props appear to be incredibly textured, with worn-out fabrics and layered pieces that make the setting of the 1890s feel genuine and lived in instead of a museum exhibit.

We also get behind-the-scenes glimpses: actors on a break between takes, the director preparing the shots, and cameras peeking over. These images serve as a reminder to the audience that Monster’s magic is not just in the outcome we see on screen, but in fact in the teamwork and creativity that is going on behind it as well.

Monster 4: Casting notes

Monster 4 features both new actors and old faces. Ella Beatty stars in the role of Lizzie Borden, and it is a daring decision, demonstrating that the creators desire someone who is quite a mystery but can also be emotionally deep at the same time. Charlie Hunnam, who played the role of Ed Gein in Monster Season 3, is being brought back this time in a different role related to the Borden family. His appearance is a way of connecting the new story with the last season.

The supporting cast is no less thrilling. Vicky Krieps portrays the character of a maid, Bridget Sullivan, who lived in the house of the Borden family. Rebecca Hall takes the role of Abby Borden, Lizzie’s stepmother. Billie Lourd will portray Emma, Lizzie’s sister, and Jessica Barden will play Nance O’Neill, a friend of Lizzie and an actress.

The season has an array of well-known performers and some of the emerging stars, thus standing to deliver good acting as well as buzz. The casting is also consistent with Monster’s trademark style, which is narrating dark stories about real-life events with emotion and cinematic appeal, rather than concentrating solely on the facts.
