There's nothing quite like watching a sacred childhood staple like Harry Potter and the entirety of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World be reimagined. This resulted in extreme critical attention and criticism of the casting for the reboot. Fans of the Wizarding World, or the Potterheads as they call themselves, have always been very opinionated about the franchise.
From the Golden Trio's casting to the controversial casting of Paapa Essiedu as Professor Snape, the fans have been vocal. However, other than a few uninformed comments here and there, one casting that has been regarded in the most positive of lights so far was John Lithgow's casting as the Hogwarts Headmaster, Professor Dumbledore.

Throughout the seven movies of the Harry Potter franchise, Dumbledore remains one of the most talked-about characters. The discourse is oftentimes positive, focusing on his powers as a wizard, his ability to inspire greatness in those around him, or his calm yet fiery demeanor. Other times, the focus is on how the headmaster groomed Harry for the ultimate sacrifice and forced three young children to put their lives on the line without providing them with any information about their mission.
Safe to say, playing the headmaster is a complex job, even for the most seasoned actors. However, Richard Harris in the first two films and Michael Gambon in the rest of them did a legendary job portraying the seasoned wizard. While Michael Gambon remains the actor who played the headmaster in the final films, Richard Harris's childlike, warm yet deadly sharp portrayal of Dumbledore in the first two movies has managed to leave a unique mark on the franchise.
Now, John Lithgow has been cast as Professor Dumbledore in the upcoming Harry Potter TV show, and it's safe to say that this actor is one of the best additions to the franchise. The latest pictures leaked from the set feature Lithgow as Dumbledore shooting on the beach. Lithgow is walking on the beach, and he has donned a perfectly white beard and the perfect little half-moon glasses as described in the books.
Professor Dumbledore on the beach in the first series does mean that it might be going off-book, as there is no such scene in the Harry Potter books. The scene that might be shot here is when the Dursleys take Harry to a secluded place in the middle of nowhere to avoid his Hogwarts letters, and Hagrid finds them, but this time around, Dumbledore might be accompanying Hagrid. The gatekeeper of Hogwarts is not allowed to use magic, so it might make sense that Dumbledore accompanies Hagrid to find Harry. However, this is all just speculation at the moment.
Nevertheless, these leaked set pictures do bring back some very vivid memories of Richard Harris' portrayal of the professor in the first two Harry Potter films.
