Netflix is all set to bring the Wild West to the frontiers with their latest drama, The Abandons. Set to premiere on December 4, this series brings the West to life, starring Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey as the two widowed matriarchs of two different feuding families.
The series, taking place in the 1850s in the Washington Territory, will expand the Western frontiers, and Netflix just dropped some exclusive first-look pictures of the star-studded ensemble.

Netflix reveals first look at the upcoming Western series The Abandons
A first look at The Abandons transports us right back into the Wild West with the widowed matriarchs Constance Van Ness and Fiona Nolan, played by Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey.
The two families that these matriarchs are leading are feuding with each other, but these feuds are linked by a deep, bound history of love and war. Fighting over the ownership of a land, which Anderson's Constance looks over in a first-look picture, and over who makes the rules, both families are trying to survive. But will they be able to coexist?
Fueled by murder and revenge, The Abandons explores some very hard-hitting questions. One of these families is bound to each other by blood, while the other chose each other and made a family of outcasts and orphans. The show forces us to ask what makes a family, as these families feud against each other.
However, two star-crossed lovers might be the link to these families coexisting or the reason behind all the war and destruction that comes to this town. Be it an awful secret, years of feud, a star-crossed love, murder, or revenge, fate seems to keep bringing the Van Nesses and the Nolans together.
The showdown between the two forces us to ask if it really is possible to stay good in a bad world and how far one would go in order to protect the ones they love.
In the midst of it all, these widowed matriarchs are hell-bent on ensuring their families' power and safety. The logline for the show reads:
Set in Washington Territory in 1854, the series follows the matriarchs of two very different families: one of wealth and privilege, bound by blood; and the other a found family of orphans and outcasts, bound by love and necessity. The families find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath. The collision echoes the American struggle of the haves and have-nots, in a place just beyond the reach of justice.
Along with Anderson and Headey, the show also stars Nick Robinson as Elias Teller and Aisling Francois as Trisha Van Ness, the star-crossed lovers. Additionally, Diana Silvers is set to play Dahlia Teller, Lamar Johnson as Albert Mason, Lucas Till as Garret Van Ness, and finally, Natalia del Riego as Lilla Belle.
The first season of the show, set to follow these feuding families, will premiere on Netflix on December 4.
