Nobody Wants This, the Netflix series that actually everyone wants more of, is returning for its second season on 23rd October 2025. This is one of those rare times when a show is returning for the next season approximately a year after its previous season was released, given how long the gaps between seasons are these days.
Netflix has just released the first look at Nobody Wants This season 2.
Nobody Wants This season 2
Netflix has understood how much fans want a season 2 and is going to release the next season on 23rd October 2025. The streaming platform has also released the first look pictures of Nobody Wants This season 2. While the images do not give away the story of season two, they do give us a look at the couple's growing love, their siblings, and basketball matches.
Nobody Wants This season one was first released on Netflix on 26th September 2024, and followed the story of how Joanne and Noah, who are poles apart, fall for each other helplessly. The show received massive success due to its honest portrayal of love, family, and healthy relationships.
Noah is a rabbi, and Joanne is an agnostic woman - not exactly a match made in heaven. But as it turned out, trust, communication, and compromises go a long way, and that's what made Joanne and Noah's love something that everyone wants.
The first season saw the couple struggle with their religious differences, as Noah is a Rabbi and Joanne isn't. Joanne considered converting, but isn't sure of that step yet. While Noah's family are not Joanne's biggest fan, he does choose her over the Head Rabbi position. But we don't know how long he will choose her over everything else.
Adam Brody spoke with Tudum by Netflix about what lies ahead for the couple after Noah prioritized Joanne over everything else, saying,
“In the light of day, will he still feel that way? I don’t know,”
“It’s an open question.”
“I think that’s what the show can explore,”
He continued,
“What should he do? What should she do? What version of sacrifice is worth it? What constitutes growth, or what constitutes dimming yourself to be with someone else? It’s a sacrifice, but ideally, you grow together and you’re better for it — you don’t have to [lop] off a limb.”
While we can't confirm exactly what twists will take place in season two, we can say that the upcoming season will be testing Joanne and Noah as a couple as they face reality. A few new characters will be joining the show, played by Leighton Meester, Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, and Arian Moayed.
Leighton Meester will be playing a guest character, Abby, a mother who is also an influencer. Abby and Joanne go way back, all the way to middle school, but not in a friendly way. As Meester is married to Brody in real life, creator Erin Foster told Tudum by Netflix,
“getting to create such a fun role for Leighton to play and getting to write her and Adam in a scene together was such a thrill for the writers’ room.”
Miles Fowler will be playing one of Noah's teammates on the Matzah Ballers. Alex Karpovsky will be playing a recurring guest character called Big Noah, a rabbi at Noah's temple. Arian Moayed will be playing recurring guest character Dr. Andy.
Season two of Nobody Wants This will include the main cast from season one, including Kristen Bell as Joanne, Adam Brody as Noah, Justine Lupe as Morgan, Timothy Simons as Sasha, Jackie Tohn as Esther, Michael Hitchcock as Henry, Stephanie Faracy as Lynne, Paul Ben-Victor as Ilan, Tovah Feldshuh as Bina, Sherry Cola as Ashley, and D’Arcy Carden as Ryann.
Nobody Wants This season 2 arrives on Netflix on 23rd October 2025.
