The first trailer of Nobody Wants This Season 2 is here, and it gives us a sneak peek at Joanne and Noah's story post-Noah's big romantic gesture. The trailer doesn't give away too much, but it shows the issues Joanne and Noah still have to work through.

Part of the reason why Season 1 of the show was successful was that it portrayed a healthy, loving relationship. But it also focused on the very initial part of the relationship, untouched by reality. Nobody Wants This Season 2 will make us ask questions about whether the couple are really the right fit for each other.

The trailer opens with a fun and sweet conversation between the couple. But the scene soon cuts to Joanne's sister, Morgan, giving Joanne a reality check. On their podcast, Morgan says that Joanne is in a

"psychotically annoying relationship"

but also reminds her that they won't know if the relationship is solid until they are out of the honeymoon phase and see if they fit into each other's lives. Joanne tries to convince Morgan (and herself) that she and Noah are figuring out the minute details.

One of the main problems faced by Noah and Joanne from the beginning of the show is their religious differences. Joanne is agnostic, while Noah is a rabbi. Besides, Noah's family isn't exactly keen on him dating or marrying someone who is not Jewish. In Season 1, we saw that Joanne wasn't sure if she wanted to convert to Judaism and needed more time, and Noah was understanding of that. In the Nobody Wants This Season 2 trailer, we see a dinner guest ask Joanne,

"So, you're converting to Judaism?"

To that, she responds,

"No we're gonna do the whole, like, interfaith thing."

This happens in front of Noah, Sasha, and Esther, who are surprised at Joanne's response. From Noah's reaction, it also looks like he did not know they had arrived at the decision of Joanne not converting. Thus, the trailer suggests Joanne and Noah will face communication issues over this in Season 2.

Religion is an important topic for this couple, which is tied to other aspects of their relationship, too, like the future and potential children. In the trailer, we see Morgan telling Joanne that having children with Noah would mean no Santa for Christmas since Judaism has different traditions. The realization troubles Joanne, and she concedes that the couple hasn’t discussed kids. While that's alright, it shows us that there's a lot the couple has yet to figure out.

Noah's mother, Bina, is still not a fan of Joanne, but Joanne is doing her best to fit in. The couple acknowledges that there's a lot they need to work through, but they won't give up, no matter how difficult it seems. The Nobody Wants This Season 2 trailer also gives us a look at Leighton Meester as Abby and Seth Rogen in an unspecified guest role. Other cast members joining the show for Season 2 are Miles Fowler, Alex Karpovsky, Kate Berlant, and Arian Moayed.

Nobody Wants This Season 2 will be released on Netflix on October 23, 2025. Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
