The classic Muppets are set to return with a special reboot of The Muppet Show for Disney. The odds are completely in their favor this time around, with guest star Sabrina Carpenter and executive producer Seth Rogen making an exciting appearance in the first teaser trailer.
A blend of music and comedy, The Muppet Show serves as a backdoor pilot to the fate of the Muppets, as it could turn into a new television series if the special were to find the right audience. The teaser trailer pokes fun at itself in the most Muppet fashion, as the Muppets haven’t been turned into anything long-lasting up until now.

Disney unveils brand-new trailer for The Muppet Show starring the self-declared biggest Muppets fan
It was revealed back in September that the Muppets were set to receive yet another pilot episode, which could translate into a new series for the beloved gang, including Kermit and Miss Piggy.
Disney has finally unveiled a brand-new teaser trailer for The Muppet Show, proving that this pilot will be bigger than the Muppets we’ve seen before. And we’ve seen them quite a few times. Kermit pokes fun at the fact that the Muppets haven’t been able to land anything long-term until now, and that they keep having to restart.
"It’s the return of The Muppet Show back on the very stage where it all started, and then ended, and is maybe starting again, depending on how the night goes"
The trailer goes on to feature one of the biggest self-declared Muppets fans, the global pop icon Sabrina Carpenter. The pop star has been extremely vocal about her love for the Muppets, and particularly Miss Piggy. Her love for the Muppets was quite obvious when she chose to bring a Miss Piggy outfit to life at the VMAs in September 2025.
The teaser finds Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the Muppets gang taking the stage once again, and this time they’re accompanied by Seth Rogen and Sabrina Carpenter. Rogen appears in the teaser and tells Kermit that it has always been a dream of his to be there with the Muppets, to which Kermit replies sassily:
"Oooh, got any other dreams?"
The official description for the upcoming special event goes on to read:
"Kermit, Miss Piggy and the beloved Muppet gang are back with a brand-new special event. Music, comedy, and a whole lot of chaos are bound to ensue when The Muppets once again take the stage of the original Muppet Theatre with their very special guest, Sabrina Carpenter!"
The iconic Muppet performers Bill Barretta, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz (who has worked with the Muppets for over 50 years), David Rudman, Peter Linz, and Matt Vogel will be returning for the special event. They will be joined by a host of talented additional performers.
As The Muppet Show celebrates its 50th anniversary, Disney returns with a brand-new special event, which will hopefully bring the Muppets back to life once again on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
