Foundation Season 3 Episode 7 recap before the next episode premieres
Foundation Season 3 Episode 7 opens with a flashback that takes us to Mentalic's origin story and how he struggled under the Foundation's control and their harsh rules, one of which forced parents to ensure that they only had one child, even if it meant killing their other child by not giving the family enough food.
After the flashback, we're taken back to the present day, where Mule has finally taken over New Terminus after their mayor betrays and surrenders to him. The mayor also has Han Pritcher captured in a cell, which is what the Mule originally wanted from Mayor Indbur.
However, by the time the Mule gets to his cell, Pritcher has escaped after biting his wrists and alerting the guards with his pained groans of blood sprouting from his wrists.
On the other side, Brother Day goes through an induced hallucination through truth serums and is interrogated by Song. The interrogations lead them to Dermezel, the Brothers' childhood, and the Empire. On the same planet, Giganticus has disappeared, while Toran Mallow escapes, leaving his wife behind.
The Mule, unhappy after finding out about Pritcher's escape, forces Mayor Indbur to drown himself, a recurring image on Foundation, as we're taken back to his family's attempts to kill him, their son, by drowning to save their baby. However, even the Mule's tale is questioned over its reality before the episode comes to a close.
Season 3 Episode 8 will further explore Mule, his takeover of New Terminus, and his goal to find Gaal Dornick through Han Pritcher, something that has become complicated after Pritcher's escape.
Brother Day's interrogation and the information that Song and her group have collected about the Empire and Demerzel will also lead to a lot of chaos in the next episode.
