The final episode of Apple TV’s Foundation Season 3 revealed several important narratives that will be crucial for the next season. In the finale episode of Season 3, Gaal finally attacks the Mule. She also learns about the real identity of the Mentalic.
Elsewhere, in Trantor, Dusk is not ready to give up his life and tries to do everything to survive, even if it means destroying his own lineage. Furthermore, the episode also introduces another humanoid, whose identity is still a secret.

Foundation Season 3 finale (Episode 10) recap: Brother Day meets Demerzel while Dusk tries to find a way to survive
After killing and escaping the Sunmaster and taking the robot head in the previous episode of Foundation, Brother Day returns to Trantor in the finale. He presents the robot head to her. He asks her to activate it. However, she refuses as her programming does not allow her to do that. He then asks her to tell him how to do it.
Elsewhere, Brother Dusk gets ready to transform from Dusk to Darkness so that a new Cleon can rise. He goes back to the palace and finds the backup Cleons. In an attempt to survive, he destroys all the backup, ending the Cleon genetic dynasty.
He then finds the baby that would become the next Dawn after his death and takes him. Demerzel senses the chaos that was about to ensue and tracks Dusk down.
Foundation Season 3 finale (Episode 10) recap: Gaal learns Mule’s identity
In the finale episode of Foundation Season 3, Gaal and her team get ready to attack Mule in the space station. With the help of virtual Hari Seldon, who helps in moving the Vault near Mule’s spaceship, the team infiltrates the station.
While the others go to Indbur’s office to look for the Mule, Pritcher goes to look for Bayta. As the Mule had cut off the power, Bayta and Dawn got a chance to escape. However, Brother Dawn refuses, as he won’t be able to run far due to his legs, and asks her to escape alone. Bayta then finds Pritcher, and they both go to meet everyone else in Indbur’s office.
Just like she had seen in her vision 150 years ago, Gaal finds the Mule in the office and confronts him. As the Mule invades everyone’s mind, Gaal overpowers him in his own game and makes him kill himself. However, the crew does not get much time to celebrate as the real Mule invades Gaal’s mind.
It is then revealed that Bayta was the Mule all along. Bayta then tries to invade Gaal’s mind and orders Magnifico to play the Visi-Sonor. Unbeknownst to her, Gaal had already manipulated Magnifico to change the tune, and as a result, it's her mind that gets overpowered and helps Gaal snap out of Bayta’s mind manipulations.
She then successfully escapes the spaceship.
Foundation Season 3 finale (Episode 10) recap: Dusk kills Demerzel and Day while the second Foundation survives
In an attempt to kill the baby and Demerzel, in the finale of Foundation Season 3, Dusk puts the baby in front of the beam where he was supposed to die. As expected and even after Day’s pleas, Demerzel puts herself in front of the beam to save the baby. Her robotic frame melts, and the baby dies as well due to the power of the beam; only the Prime radiant survives.
Day then confronts Dusk on his actions, but is unable to fight without his nanites, which gives Dusk the upper hand, and he kills Day as well. He then assumes the throne as the only Cleon, now called Darkness, and becomes the Emperor.
Furthermore, the finale of Foundation Season 3 also showed how the second Foundation survived due to Gaal’s planning, which instructed Preem Palver to take the entire second Foundation to a place where even she could not find them, as she knew the Mule would get into her head and find out about them.
Ambassador Quent, who was sent to the library by Demerzel before her death, meets Palver. As the Second Foundation is saved from the Mule at the end, the episode also introduces another robot. The robot head that Day had brought is powered back on, which sends a signal to two people, Kalle and another robot.
