Mad About You star and co-creator Paul Reiser has teamed up with another sitcom veteran to develop a multi-camera comedy series at Fox. Reiser has partnered with ABC's The Goldbergs creator, Adam F. Goldberg, and his son Leon Reiser for writing the script of his new sitcom.
The unnamed sitcom, currently in development at Fox Entertainment Studios, will follow a dysfunctional family fallout. After their (twenty-something son) fails to launch himself into adulthood, he is forced to join his father (Paul Reiser) in the monotonous damaged goods business in New Jersey. The sitcom will explore the themes of generational fallout in modern families, with a humorous take.
Reiser and Goldberg will also serve as executive producers on the sitcom, alongside Nacelle’s Brian Volk-Weiss, Matt Ochacher, and Michael Pelmont. Junior Reiser will serve as a producer on the untitled project.

Paul Reiser joins another sitcom veteran for a multi-camera comedy at Fox
Continuing their push into multi-camera comedies, Fox has teamed up with Mad About You star Paul Reiser. The actor, comedian, and writer played the role of Paul Buchman in the 1992 NBC sitcom alongside Helen Hunt. The sitcom ran for seven seasons and was also revived by Spectrum Originals for Season 8, with 12 episodes.
In addition, Reiser also appeared in The Kominsky Method as Martin, Mindy Kominsky's boyfriend, which also earned him an Emmy nomination. Some of his other small-screen roles include Dr. Sam Owens in Netflix's Stranger Things, Gordon Gelman in Reboot, and The Legend in Prime Video's The Boys.
Paul Reiser has also appeared in notable films, namely Whiplash, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, and War on Everyone.
The comedy king will partner with another sitcom veteran and the creator of one of the most popular family sitcoms in the last decade, The Goldbergs. Adam F. Goldberg's semi-autobiographical sitcom ran on ABC for ten seasons, from 2013-2023. In addition, Goldberg is also the creative genius behind many other sitcoms, namely Breaking In, Imaginary Mary, and Schooled.
In an interview with Deadline, Reiser shared his excitement for the project:
“So excited to be creating this show with the good people at Fox and my two great partners in crime — Adam F. Goldberg and Leon Reiser. This feels like it’s on its way to be something really special.”
Paul Reiser and Goldberg's untitled sitcom is Fox's latest attempt to revive their multi-camera comedies. After Call Me Kat, their last multi-camera comedy in 2021, the network is desperately trying to bring back their sitcom game. In addition to this dysfunctional family comedy, the network is also developing other comedies, namely Bill Burr's project based on the life of actor-comedian Earthquake and Perf by Tulsa King alum Andrea Savage.
