Avengers: Doomsday might just be the MCU’s most anticipated event in years, and it’s kicking off a powerhouse lineup for Marvel in 2026. After a few uneven phases and fan fatigue setting in, 2026 feels like Marvel’s shot at redemption, bringing both nostalgic reunions and fresh storylines to the forefront, all of it leading up to the final event of Avengers: Doomsday.

With titles like Vision Quest also on the docket, the studio’s upcoming slate blends legacy and innovation in classic Marvel fashion. Here’s a look at every Marvel project you can look forward to in 2026, and how it all leads to Avengers: Doomsday.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

The streets of Hell’s Kitchen get darker in March 2026 as Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 premieres on Disney+. Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox emerges from Season 1’s wreckage to face a city under Kingpin’s martial law and a corrupt Anti‑Vigilante Task Force.

Filmed in New York through summer 2025, this eight‑episode arc escalates the drama with Vanessa Fisk as a ruthless power player, Bullseye back in explosive form, and Frank Castle, played by Jon Bernthal breaking free in an accompanying Punisher special. Expect gritty combat, fan-favorite cameos, including Jessica Jones, and the street-level justice that built the original cult favorite. Although Cox has denied being involved in Avengers: Doomsday, fans are still hoping he will join the multiverse.

Release Date: March 2026.

Vision Quest

Vision Quest tracks Paul Bettany’s White Vision as he sets out to reconstruct his humanity, and this time, he’s on his own quest. Directed by Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas, the eight‑episode series wrapped filming in July 2025 and heads to Disney+ in early 2026.

Along the way, Vision circles back to Madripoor, where he confronts James Spader’s Ultron in human form and meets other key faces like Jocasta, played by T’Nia Miller, E.D.I.T.H. played by Emily Hampshire, and Paladin played by Todd Stashwick.

It promises a cerebral, personal chapter in Phase 6, less cape, more existential crisis, and could reshape how we see the Avenger once known as Vision. It's not yet known if Vision will be a part of Avengers: Doomsday or not, with most of the facts leaning towards a no, considering Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda is also not a part, the show will still bring back a fan favorite character as we get to hear Tony Stark's OS once again.

Season 2 of X‑Men ’97 is set to premiere on Disney+ in early 2026, according to Marvel Animation head Brad Winderbaum. Production officially kicked off in late 2023, and although scripts were completed before original showrunner Beau DeMayo’s departure, the team is now working under new creative leadership.

The season will elevate stakes with the emergence of Apocalypse, whose arrival was teased in the post‑credits of Season 1, and set up the transformation of Gambit into one of his Four Horsemen. New characters include Polaris, Danger, Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, and more, promising fresh dynamics and power plays inside the mutant saga.

Season 3 is already in development too, ensuring the X‑Men’s animated future is secure. Before the X-Men lore is further intensified in Avengers: Doomsday, the animation will be a great addition preceding the mutants. Exciting, detailed, and not rushing, X‑Men ’97 Season 2 is shaping up to be thoughtful fan service with blockbuster ambition.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is swinging back in 2026 with a second season that’s already buzzing with fan hype. After Season 1 wrapped in early 2025, Marvel confirmed that scripts for Season 2 are done and animatics are halfway through, hinting at a smooth release. The new season brings major updates, including the debut of Gwen Stacy, who’s expected to evolve into Spider-Gwen.

Visuals released show her reimagined look and tease tension with Oscorp, which is expanding its shady reach across the city. Harry Osborn’s W.E.B. initiative is also set to play a bigger role, tapping into a tech-based subplot that might make or break Peter’s trust in his best friend. Plus, Daredevil and Finesse are rumored to return, continuing their Season 1 cameo arc. With a balance of teen drama, multiverse nods, and classic Spidey chaos, Season 2 promises to deepen Peter’s world without losing the heart that made Season 1 such a win.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

youtube-cover

Among the two Marvel films that will release in 2026, Spider‑Man: Brand New Day marks a pivotal reboot for Peter Parker, thrust back into anonymity after No Way Home erased his identity from everyone’s memory, including MJ and Ned. Directed by Shang‑Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton with a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film officially kicked off filming in August 2025 in Glasgow, doubling for gritty, street-level New York. It will precede the events of Avengers: Doomsday, and will most likely serve some connection to the latter.

This installment serves as a connective bridge in MCU Phase 6, anchoring the transition between Daredevil: Born Again and Avengers: Doomsday, by resetting Peter Parker in a more intimate, street‑wise world. Expect emotional depth, big action, and a return to the Spidey we all know and love.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige calls this movie the start of a proper Spider‑Man era, one grounded in city crime, human stakes, and practical filmmaking, not multiversal chaos. One of its biggest sequences reportedly involves a massive practical-action set piece shot on busy streets, drawing comparisons to the MCU’s most ambitious stunt work yet, and will feature the return of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in what’s teased as a gritty, street-level team-up.

Tom Holland returns as Peter alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon as MJ and Ned respectively, while Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas join in undisclosed roles. Rumors swirl around possible villains like Scorpion, Tombstone, or Silver Samurai, but the film is expected to favor grounded threats over cosmic ones. Although Holland has not yet been confirmed to be a part of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, his name is among the stars who are slated to appear, considering the grandeur of the final film of the year.

Avengers: Doomsday

youtube-cover

Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be the Marvel event that sets the multiverse on fire, literally and emotionally. Dropping December 18, 2026, this explosive entry marks the return of the Russo Brothers behind the camera, with a script penned by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely that promises legacy, chaos, and a little heartbreak.

The big shocker? Robert Downey Jr. is back but not as Iron Man. He's ready to suit up as Doctor Doom, flipping the emotional script and pitting the soul of the MCU against its own shadow in Avengers: Doomsday.

It’s an all-hands-on-deck situation: Sam Wilson’s Captain America, Thor and Loki, Ant-Man, the Fantastic Four, and even the original X-Men cast, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, and Rebecca Romijn, are all tangled in this high-stakes, dimension-hopping mess.

Set across London, Pinewood, and Bahrain, this is Marvel swinging for the fences with nostalgia, reinvention, and full-blown fan service. Alan Silvestri is scoring again, and the vibe is: dramatic, dangerous, and deliciously unhinged.

This is more than just an Avengers movie. It’s Marvel holding a match to its own universe, and letting it burn beautifully before building something new.
