Dancing With the Stars fame Dylan Efron has finally opened up about his relationship with high school sweetheart, Courtney King as he gives a status update on how things stand between them in recent interviews. They have been a couple since at least 2016, when their first public pictures appeared, after meeting in high school in their hometown of San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Their relationship is under strain though, with the pressures of rehearsing and fame as Dylan battles it out on the dance show. He admits the show has been “tougher on Courtney than me,” pointing out that while he’ll be living close to the studio for a time, she needs to maintain life at home when they’re gone.
The fundamentals of their relationship have not changed, Dylan insists. He notes that Courtney shies away from the spotlight, praises her for being grounded and supprotive and says their relationship has strengthened because of all the traveling they do together, conversations about reality TV shows they've had and understanding each other's struggles with fame.
From high school to Dancing With the Stars: Dylan Efron’s love story with Courtney King
On Dancing With the Stars, Dylan Efron gives thanks to his low-key source of strength, his long-time girlfriend Courtney King, before he banks on those glitzy routines and ballroom brawls. The pressures of competition and the geographical distance are testing their relationship, rooted in mutual respect and an intimacy with their hometown. Dylan, though, insists their love has stood the test of time and they might come to do more than dance in the future.
How their love started & Courtney’s role
The story of Dylan and Courtney starts like many long-lasting romances: classmate to confidante in high school. Before his reality career took off, they supposedly dated for years and are from the same area. Despite being well-known, Courtney maintains a modest profile; she works a standard 40-hour job and avoids social media.
“It’s cool because she’s actually not on social media and she works a 40-hour-a-week job. It works out really well … She doesn’t really like being on camera.”
Dylan has expressed his admiration for her balance and support, saying that she understands his goals without pressuring him to be in the spotlight. She is attributed by him with introducing him to reality shows and podcasts, such as The Traitors. They frequently travel, have adventures, and spend quiet time together away from cameras, which gives their relationship a real, grounded place away from the spotlight.
DWTS’s challenges & what Dylan sees ahead
Dylan admits that Courtney takes on a lot of the stress from a distance as Dancing With the Stars puts greater expectations on him, such as five-hour rehearsals, being away from home, and continual monitoring. In order to handle the workload, he disclosed that he is now residing closer to the studio. He called the situation "trying," but he emphasized that Courtney's fortitude maintains their relationship.
“I would be lying if [I said] Dancing With the Stars wasn’t tough, but I think it's tougher on Courtney than me.
Dylan, nevertheless, is still hopeful about their future. Although he would rather not hurry timelines, he has disclosed that marriage is a chapter they are leaning into. He has stated, "She knows I love her, 100%," claiming that their fundamental bond hasn't changed in spite of criticism from the public. His present stage is Dancing With the Stars, and he is making room for Courtney in both his plans and his profession.
