Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen has been cast in FX's Untitled Witness Protection Pilot. Gillen will play an important guest character of Carl Milliken III, and his role is expected to expand if the Pilot is given a series order.
The Witness Protection Pilot is a contemporary take on a previously unproduced script by David Chase, who was also initially involved in the project. Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch were later brought in as writers, showrunners, and executive producers by FX Productions. Fidell is also set to direct the FX Pilot.
The Untitled Witness Protection Pilot follows Remy, a high-end DC officer, who is forced to turn on her partner after a violent confrontation and unexpected circumstances. She then enters witness protection with her adolescent daughter in seaside Maine.

Aidan Gillen joins the Witness Protection Pilot at FX
Aidan Gillen will play the guest role of Carl Milliken III. According to Deadline's description of the character:
''[Carl is] a business executive who identifies more with his workface than the military contractors he interacts with.''
Aidan Gillen is an Irish actor and the recipient of three Irish Film & Television Awards. The actor has appeared in many critically acclaimed TV shows and movies throughout his career. Gillen is best known for his character of Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish in HBO's beloved fantasy action drama series Game of Thrones.
Additionally, you might have seen Aidan Gillen as Milo Sunter in Paramount+'s crime thriller Mayor of Kingstown, Aberama Gold in Steven Knight's gangster drama Peaky Blinders, and Thomas “Tommy” Carcetti in HBO's crime drama series The Wire.
Gillen's film credits include Lord Nathan Rathbone in Shanghai Knights, Janson in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and its sequel Maze Runner: The Death Cure, a CIA operative in The Dark Knight Rises, and John Reid in Bohemian Rhapsody.
The actor has also been nominated for a British Academy Television Award, a Tony Award, a British Independent Film Award, and a Drama Desk Award.
Aidan Gillen will join the previously announced cast of Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men), Zoë Chao (If You Were the Last), Jamie Neumann (Jessica Jones), Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is the New Black), and Antonella Rose (Fear the Walking Dead).
Alison Brie will play the lead role of Remy, who turns on her partner and enters a witness protection program along with her daughter, Liv, played by Rose. Pablo Schreiber will play the role of a gun store owner and Chao will appear as the mother of one of Liv's friends. Lastly, Neumann will play the character of an esc*rt in Remy's new town, Maine.
The Witness Protection Pilot is also executive-produced by Nicole Lambert for Riverain Pictures.
While plot details about the untitled Pilot are scarce, the upcoming FX project is surely building a strong cast. Gillen is a seasoned Irish actor who has appeared in many dramatic roles throughout his career. His guest character feels important to the project and will even be expanded if the Pilot is given a series order at FX.
