Gen V's first season introduced us to Marie Moreau, played by actress Jaz Sinclair, who is a hemokinetic, i.e., someone who controls the flow of blood with their mind. Furthermore, she can even survive Homelander's heat vision. The closing minutes of the season 1 finale reveal that Marie, Jordan, Andre, and Emma are imprisoned in a mysterious room.
However, the trailer for season 2 reveals that Marie, Emma, and Jordan have been released from their imprisonment. Furthermore, Marie is even given a second chance at Godolkin University by Dean Ciphe, who has replaced Indira Shetty, after her death in season 1. Thus, Gen V Season 2 will follow Marie as she tries to keep her head down and leave college with distinction.
However, the closing minutes of season 2 might set up The Boys Season 5, just like Gen V Season 1 did for the virus plot point for the fourth season. Fan theories also suggest that Marie might play a pivotal role in season 5 on the side of Starlight. Marie's hemokinetic abilities might be the one thing that might defeat Homelander, as theoretically, she can separate the Compound V from his blood.
How is Gen V's Marie a threat to Homelander?
As mentioned above, Marie, much like Victoria Neuman (who died in the season 4 finale), is a hemokinetic. Her joining Annie January/Starlight's side might be a major win for the Starlighters. If Marie indeed joins the fight against Homelander in The Boys Season 5, she can separate the Compound V from his blood.
If it indeed happens, Homelander would be condemned to a fate worse than death, live the rest of his life as a mortal.
What will Gen V Season 2 be about?
As mentioned above, Kate Dunlap, who is responsible for Marie and her friends' imprisonment, releases them as shown in the Gen V Season 2 trailer. It seems that Andre may have perished in custody, because Chance Perdomo, the actor who plays him, passed away in an accident in March 2024. The makers confirmed that Perdomo won't be recast, meaning the character might have perished.
Apart from Chance Perdomo, everyone returns for the second season, which is set after the events of The Boys Season 4, where Homelander has a puppet installed in the White House. Thus, Marie and her friends have to navigate a volatile world because Homelander is in complete control of everything.
"In Season Two, school is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander's iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it."
