Emma and Jordan are released from prison, and to avoid getting trapped in such a situation again, they decide to go along with Vought's narrative. Outside the prison, Cate greets them, trying to show her involvement in taking them out, but they don't seem to care much after her betrayal, which led to Andre's death. Sam and Cate form an alliance when Emma blames them for their imprisonment and Andre's death.

Cipher becomes Godolkin School's new dean. However, Jordan immediately recognizes him from Elmira, meaning he’s untrustworthy from the start. Emma returns to God U with Marie and Jordan, and she realizes that the new dean is hiding something significant than it seems. He holds a Hero Optimisation Seminar, suggesting some hidden agenda behind the performance. However, he dies under mysterious circumstances.

This leads Emma to take quick actions and to seek help with her doubts; she approaches Andre's father, Polarity. Polarity is already disturbed by Cipher's death, robbing him of finding out the truth behind the Vought's experiment, because of which his son, Andre, died. Emma then calms him down to not lash out recklessly and quietly investigates, as this is the only thing that could work in their favour.

Emma and Polarity form an unlikely alliance to investigate the matter further in Gen V. This investigation leads them to Godolkin University's restricted library archives. They think they are hitting a dead end with the investigation, when they find access to a secret room within the library.

The room was filled with Nazi and KKK Memorabilia linked to Thomas Godolkin, the founder of the school. This discovery connects the school with the supremacist ideology directly. Upon further investigation, they found files related to Project Odessa documents, with which they can gain more information about the ongoing experiments. Shockingly, one of the files was of Marie confirming her involvement in the project and Vought's experiments.

With this discovery, Emma learns about the racist and extremist origins of the school while also uncovering the growing influence of Project Odessa. This sets the stage for deeper season 2 mysteries in Gen V. Emma isn't a comic relief anymore, but an investigator and a leader about to expose something big. How Emma would deal with Marie knowing what made her so powerful is only to be seen in the coming episodes of Gen V.
