The Boys spin-off, titled Gen V, has been a stand-alone show so far, except for a few appearances in the final episode. Even though the events of both shows are happening in The Boys' world in the same order that the seasons have been released in, they have been kept separate so far. However, the second season is breaking this trend with the entry of many supes from The Boys.
The second season of Gen V is set to be a continuation after the events of The Boys Season 4 and act as a bridge to the upcoming Season 5. The trailer for Season 2 revealed that the supes at Godolkin are now living in Homelander's America, and everything has changed since the last time we saw them.
Additionally, Marie (played by Jaz Sinclair) also has a skeptical interaction with Starlight (played by Erin Moriarty) in the season 2 trailer.
Here's what the Gen V star revealed about Starlight and Marie's connection.

Prime Video recently released a trailer for the upcoming show, and apart from setting up some interesting storylines for the next season, the trailer also revealed cameos from several The Boys supes, such as Starlight, Deep, and Black Noir.
One of the cameos that stood out from the trailer was Starlight, who approached Marrie and tasked her with a special mission. The last time we saw Starlight was when she escaped arrest, unlike the rest of the boys and Kimiko in The Boys Season 4 finale. It appears she is on a special mission after those events, as she approaches Marie and tasks her with stopping a research project.
The trailer starts with Marie being attacked by a supe named Dogknott, and Starlight stepping in to save her. Later in the trailer, we spot Starlight asking Marie for her help and for her to re-enroll at Godolkin. Starlight asks Marie to find and stop a research project named Project Odyssey in Godolkin.
Here's what Sinclair revealed about the mission in an interview with TV Insider recently:
"Marie doesn’t know Starlight beyond what she’s seen [in the media], and Marie’s kind of in a bad situation… and then Starlight shows up and then offers her this mission with all these things she hasn’t heard about, and she doesn’t really know this girl. So I think there’s a healthy amount of excitement and flattery, but also skepticism of like, why should I trust you to send me on this mission?"

It appears, however, that Marie moves past this skepticism and accepts the mission, but we will have to wait for the episodes to premiere to understand exactly what happens once Marie decides to take up the mission. Sinclair did reveal her feelings about working with Moriarty:
"It was so fun working with Erin, she’s awesome. I loved it. We had a lot of fun together."
Gen V Season 2 is all set to premiere on Prime Video on September 17, 2025, with three episodes, and then follow with the rest of the episodes weekly, setting up the finale for October 22.
