Amazon Prime Video's satirical superhero series Gen V Season 2 is set to return on September 17, 2025. Created by Michele Fazekas and starring Jaz Sinclair, Lizzie Broadway, and Maddie Phillips, this series acts as a prequel to The Boys. The teaser trailer for Gen V Season 2 has been released, introducing a new character while establishing a theory ahead of The Boys Season 5 that the new generation of supes might be the resistance Homelander didn't see coming, particularly Marie Moreau.
The teaser trailer presents Dean Cipher, played by Hamish Linklater, training young supes to adopt Homelander's extremist views. It also features key characters from The Boys, like The Deep and Firecracker, visiting Godolkin University to recruit the next generation of supes for Homelander's army. As Firecracker says,
"Bless your hearts and hold on to your b***s."
Here's what we know about it.

Gen V Season 2: Marie Moreau might be The Boys franchise's secret weapon
The trailer opens with Dean welcoming Marie back, as a quiet tension lingers in the air. Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair, the blood-controlling supe, was introduced in Gen V Season 1. She's powerful, determined, and most importantly, opposed to Homelander. In the Season 1 finale, she stood bravely against him, and now, with her powers growing stronger, she could become a significant threat. In the two-minute teaser, we also catch a glimpse of Marie using her blood-controlling skills to stop someone.
With Victoria Neuman's death in The Boys Season 4, Maria's power and ethics make her ideal for the role. It's not just about filling Neuman's position. If Butcher and his team oppose Homelander, they need more than insider knowledge and chemical boosts—they need supes who will resist. Marie isn't a reluctant ally; she's a willing warrior. In the trailer, we see Marie utter,
"Whatever we do, we do it together."
Additionally, we see Polarity (Sean Patrick) grieving the loss of his son, Andre Anderson, portrayed by the late actor Chance Perdomo. In the teaser trailer, Polarity says,
"I wanna burn the school..down to the motherf****** studs"
In the next few shots, we also see Polarity asking about Andres' death as he enquires,
"What really happened to my son?"
In short, Gen V Season 2 is no longer just a side chapter; it's becoming a pivotal part of the final battle. The fan theory that Marie will join The Boys Season 5 looks more likely than ever.
Gen V Season 2 sets up the stage for The Boys Season 5
In Season 1, Gen V maintained its distance from the main show, but Season 2 is diving straight into the larger story. Godolkin is no longer just an educational institution; it has become a battleground. The new dean is pushing for Homelander's radical ideas—that supes should believe they are superior to humans. In the trailer, we see Dean Cipher introducing himself to the students as he utters,
"I'm Cipher, your new Dean. It is time that humans learn that what runs through our veins is true Vought blue."
However, signs of resistance to this movement also emerge. In one quick shot, the trailer displays a Homelander poster with the word RESIST spray-painted on it. This indicates that some students oppose Homelander's ideas and are taking a stand. This sets the stage for a final confrontation in The Boys Season 5 between two factions: supes who align with Homelander and those brave enough to oppose him.
