Gen V season two is going to be released on September 17, 2025, and while all the protagonists of the show are returning, Andre Anderson, played by Chance Perdomo, won't. The actor tragically passed away in March 2024, and instead of recasting the character, the creators behind Gen V decided to honor him by still keeping him present in the story. We won't see Andre for obvious reasons, but as season two's trailer suggests, he will be woven into the storyline despite the actor's demise.
While the trailer had already hinted at the creators honoring Chance Perdomo, Collider reports that Gen V has confirmed that Perdomo will be a constant presence in season two.

Chance Perdomo's character, Andre Anderson, will be present in season two of Gen V
Due to Perdomo's demise, we will not see his character, Andre Anderson, return to Godolkin from the rehabilitation center with his friends, Marie, Jordan, and Emma. But as the trailer suggests, in the story of the show, Andre is missing, and his father, Polarity, will do everything in his power to find his son. While the show could've recast the character or told us Andre passed away off-screen, the creators chose to give him an honorable goodbye. The season will not only follow Marie, Emma, and Jordan returning to Godolkin and uncovering a secret operation, but also address what happened to Andre.
According to Collider, Michele Fazekas, the showrunner of Gen V, said,
“It was a really important thing for us to honor Andre and honor Chance,”
She also pointed out that the cast and crew of the show had to say goodbye to both Chance and Andre, which was extremely difficult. Thus, the creators felt that the best way to address the situation would be to bid Andre a proper goodbye and not a rushed one.
She continued,
“When we were having to rebreak these episodes without Andre, there was a weird thing where you grieve a character too. Like as much as you grieve Chance, we grieved Andre too. We loved Andre, so that was an interesting thing to happen, and we just really wanted to honor the character and honor the person in a way that didn’t feel cheap or exploitative, and I think we did it. I’m actually pretty proud of it.”
Chance Perdomo's character, Andre, would be kept alive in spirit mostly through Polarity and his quest to find out what happened to his son. Sean Patrick Thomas, who plays Polarity, will have to go through a difficult time in his character's life as he grieves his son.

As Collider reports, speaking about Perdomo's presence in season two through Andre, Thomas said,
“[Perdomo’s] a constant presence in the show. From the first second of Season 2 he’s a presence. You can’t have Gen V without Chance Perdomo. He’s part of the DNA of the show. The writers did a phenomenal job of weaving his memory and his character into the storyline of the show and how it motivates the characters. I think they really did a great job of honoring the phenomenal person that he was.”
Andre was an important character of the show, and while his physical absence will be felt by fans in season two, they will feel his presence woven into the season's storyline. Gen V season two will premiere on Prime Video on September 17, 2025.
