What happens in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 premiere?

A major portion of the first episode deals with Georgie and Ruben realizing that they have diametrically opposite views on running a business. Georgie, being the young man he is already planning to turn the store into a franchise, while Ruben, who is a bit older and experienced in this line of work, is a bit cautious. At the beginning of this Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 episode, they disagree about buying a computer to digitize operations.

Jim visits the store on Mandy's advice and hears Ruben and Georgie out. Jim reveals that incurring debt is not a prudent idea; he also says that not digitizing operations would ultimately shutter the store. Thus, he suggests leasing a computer system as a middle ground. He also gives them the idea to hire an accountant to claim some tax benefits from the purchase.

Now, the business partners find themselves in another sticky disagreement as the two find themselves at another crossroads about hiring an accountant. Georgie and Ruben settle this issue with a race across the town, which the former wins at the cost of blistering his feet because of the wrong footwear. Thus, we may see the accountant next Thursday as Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 airs its second episode.

Showrunner Steve Holland addressed the source of Georgie and Ruben's disagreement in a Deadline interview after the season 2 premiere:

"Ruben has obviously been there a lot longer and knows the business more. He thinks he should be heard, and Georgie is young and brash and full of ideas. Ruben is a little bit older and more mature. He doesn’t want to take stupid chances."

Will we see Georgie and Mandy's separation in season 2?

We already know that Georgie and Mandy are not together in The Big Bang Theory. Thus, we already know that the couple will not last long, meaning this sitcom has a clear destination, which is their marriage breaking apart. When the Deadline reporter asked Steve Holland if he knew when the couple decide to separate, he answered:

"I don’t. I think it’s good. We know some things that are floating out there. It’s not like how it was with Young Sheldon. We knew when George Sr. died. It was when Sheldon was 14 before he went to Cal Tech. We know some things that are going to happen in the story of Georgie, but we don’t know when. That gives us a lot of freedom to sort our way through and find a way to get those points in a way that will feel natural and surprising. The fact that you know it’s gonna happen is a like a sword hanging over their relationship. You don’t know when, but you know at some point it’s gonna drop."
