Carrie Coon, who plays Bertha Russell in The Gilded Age, is celebrating her third Emmy nomination — this time for Season 3 of The White Lotus.
In a recent interview with Deadline, she expressed her excitement about it. Coon has earned three Emmy nominations to date: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Fargo in 2017, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for The Gilded Age in 2022, and this year (2025) for Supporting Actress in The White Lotus.
The Gilded Age season 3 premiered in June of this year; therefore, it is not eligible for the Emmys in 2025, as the eligibility bracket typically includes shows released by May of the same year. Coon, however, feels that the reception of The Gilded Age season 3 has been good, and therefore, another new season can be expected.
“I have no say in the future of [The Gilded Age] — I’ll have to redirect you to the head of HBO,” Coon said. “The response so far has been tremendous, which gives us hope for the possibility of another season.”

Here is what Emmy nominee Carrie Coon had to say about celebrating her career highs

As mentioned, Carrie Coon, who was nominated for her role in 2022, stated that she isn't the right person to answer questions about the show's future. However, she is very hopeful.
She also expressed how she is celebrating her work.
“I’m working, which, again, is the best way to celebrate. I’m in Vancouver doing an independent film. I’m here with my whole family, so it’s very chaotic. The days are long, and it’s the kind of good, hard, fulfilling work I’ve been lucky to do. I’m very fortunate to be working right now.”
Harmonia, for which she is currently filming, is directed by Guy Nattiv, and her co-stars include Odessa Young, Lily James, and Bella Ramsey, another Emmy-nominated talent.
In short, Carrie Coon is celebrating the best way she knows, by diving into another layered, emotionally demanding role on set, surrounded by both her family and a powerful ensemble cast.
Carrie Coon is nominated for her role in The White Lotus Season 3
Coon was nominated for her role as Laurie, a sharp New York-based lawyer. She credits her athletic past (as a competitive runner) for Laurie’s realistic and gripping escape scene in the explosive finale. The character’s survival leaves the door open for a return, and when asked about Season 4, she said she’s open to reprising the role.
“I would certainly be open to it. I would prefer to work in the snow,”
The actor then acknowledged that every nomination isn't just the hard work of one person, but rather the collective effort of many.
“I’m thrilled for the other members of my ensemble who were nominated this morning,” Coon said. “Of course, the reason we’re all nominated is because we were supported by a tremendous group of actors working under extreme, extreme circumstances. And so we all know that our nominations are entirely dependent on the work of our friends, and so we share this morning with them.”
Though this time, The Gilded Age isn't among the nomination list, the show did well in 2024 when it got nominations for Outstanding Drama Series and period costumes. Season 3 premiered on June 22, with a new episode released every Sunday. The season finale is expected to drop on 10 August.
