“Going to tour a little”: Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard reveals his 2026 plans post Netflix series end

Stranger Things finale premiered on New Year's Eve, giving the beloved series an emotional and hopeful ending.

With an ambiguous ending for Eleven after she sacrificed herself to protect her friends, the finale tied up the stories of almost all the important characters of the horror series. Now that the series has ended, fans might be wondering where they will see their favorite stars next.

While some of them are gearing up for exciting new projects, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, has different plans. In his Esquire interview, the Stranger Things star revealed that he might work on his next album and go on a tour with his band, The Aubreys. He shared:

"I’m probably going to tour a little bit with my band next year and put out another album."

In the epilogue of the Stranger Things finale, Wolfhard's character, Mike, was among the few who did not get over Eleven's disappearance. However, while he joined the others for their High School graduation, he was also the one who gave us the hopeful update about El that maybe she was still alive and far away from all the dangers that they faced in Hawkins.

Wolfhard talked about various things, such as his dream of being in a Paul Thomas Anderson film and wanting to share the screen with Jesse Eisenberg. The Stranger Things actor also shared that his plans for 2026 included touring with his band, The Aubreys, and putting out an album.

To add to his previous comment, he said:

"I have some music that I’ve written over the last two years that I want to record. So I’m kind of keeping it open."

While his focus would be on music this year, the actor and musician also shared that even though he is not currently working on a project, he is still open to exciting roles that he likes, and stated:

"I have nothing on the books officially for acting. I definitely want to pursue and keep on acting but only if it’s something that I’m really in love with."

Along with Wolfhard's Mike, we also get a glimpse of all the characters and what they are up to at the end of the Stranger Things finale. With Mike's narration, we see Will finally getting out of Hawkins and going to a bigger city where he feels accepted. For Max and Lucas, we see them going on a movie date that they promised to go on in Season 4 of the Netflix series.

Dustin is seen going to college as well and has maintained his friendship with Steve, while Mike is seen writing on his typewriter, taking over the role of the storyteller. For other characters, such as Nancy and Robin, the former drops out of college and begins working at the Boston Herald, and the latter goes to a college in Massachusetts.
