Good Omens Seasons 1 and 2 were received to critical acclaim, as well as a lot of love from the audience. The fans of the fantasy series, created by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, were looking forward to the third season. The epic series follows:

"a fussy Angel and a loose-living Demon who’ve become overly fond of life on Earth are forced to form an unlikely alliance to stop Armageddon."

However, after news broke out regarding the sexual assault allegations against Neil Gaiman, hopes about a new season were very low. Terry Pratchett stepped away from the series after the allegations regarding Gaiman came to light. Later, Gaiman stepped away from the series.

It was later announced that Season 3 would go through a major narrative change in the fact that instead of a full season with multiple episodes, there would now be just one 90-minute-long feature-length episode to wrap up the fantasy epic.

The production of the feature-length episode for Good Omens Season 3 was revealed to be underway when pictures from the set and some candid pictures started surfacing on the internet.

Josh Cole, who is an executive producer on the project, in a recent conversation with Deadline, revealed that the feature-length episode of the third season in the fantasy epic is almost finished with the post-production stage, and the release is slated for next year.

He also revealed that the love that the fandom has for Good Omens and how much this final chapter means to them is the one thing that drove this project forward and pushed everybody involved in it to carry it to the finish line, despite the hurdles.

"I’m proud of everyone who worked hard on Season 3 in incredibly difficult circumstances. Knowing what Good Omens means to the fandom really drove us forward and the finale is very much for them."

According to reports, Michael Sheen will be returning as the angel Aziraphale, along with David Tennant as the demon Crowley. John Hamm will also be returning as Gabriel, along with Doon Mackichan as Archangel Michael. As of now, there are no updates on the other potential returns for Good Omens.

However, there is a high probability that Maggie Service will be returning as Maggie, along with Nina Sosanya as Nina, Sir Derek Jacobi as Metatron, Miranda Richardson as Shax, Gloria Obianyo as Uriel, Lizz Carr as Saraqael, Shelley Corn as Beelzebub, and finally Reece Shearsmith as Furfur.

Good Omens Season 3 will likely bring Aziraphale and Crowley's slow burn to a wrap with the angel and demon admitting their love for each other while trying to save the world from another Armageddon situation.
